Gwalia Cottage is a 19 Century, end of terrace, quarryman's cottage, situated just outside the historic town of Blaenau Ffestiniog and surrounded by the Moelwyn Mountains.
Gwalia(which is an ancient name for Wales) is perfectly placed for discovering the delights of North Wales and the Snowdonia National Park. Mountains, lakes, castles and the spectacular coastline are only a short drive away. Gwalia Cottage is also a great base from which to explore the local area: Zip World, Bounce Below and the Llechewdd Slate Caverns are all within walking distance!
Gwalia Cottage sleep up to 4 people comfortably in 2 bedrooms:
1 Double and 1 Twin. The Twin bedroom also has it's own shower and washbasin! The Double bedroom has exposed beams and a feature fireplace with raised hearth and grate. There is also a bathroom with a white bath suite, toilet and separate shower.
The living room has a lovely inglenook fireplace with a multi-fuel burner.There are exposed beams, pine doors and 2 leather sofa's, the cottage also has central heating throughout and double glazing....so no need to feel cold on a chilly evening!
The kitchen/dining area has everything you need: comfortable seating area, electric oven and gas hob, washing machine and tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster.
The steep rear garden has been imaginatively landscaped enhancing the exposed natural rock features, with trees and shrubs. Halfway up the terraces there is a small seating area. From here you can take in the magnificent views of the mountains. The adjacent outhouse can be used to store your bikes. There is access through the side door which can be locked for added security.

" Not far away you can discover glorious beaches at Porthmadog, Criccieth and Harlech. Majestic mountains, magical lakes and ruined castles are all around you. Explore at your leisure and soak up the atmosphere of a bygone age.

Gwalia Cottage is situated on a quite stretch of the A470, just on the outskirts of Blaenau Ffestiniog heading towards Betws-y-Coed.

General: | Central heating, Internet Access The Cottage is unsuitable for very young children and people with limited mobility. There is on road parking. You can usually park very easily opposite the cottage and there is on street parking further along the road..Gwalia is positioned on a quite stretch of the A470, so please be aware of oncoming traffic when crossing the road. There isn't a pavement outside the cottage but Gwalia is elevated from the road, with 5 steps leading up to the front door. There is also a small garden to the front of the Cottage. Even though we are close to the road, the double glazing does minimise what little road noise there is. We do accept pets( 2 small/medium) dogs. Please do not leave your pets unsupervised and please restrict them to downstairs. Could you also bring their own bedding,towels etc. Poo bags are supplied. |

Access: | Car essential, Stairs Even though there are good railway and bus links we would advice a car, it just means that you can explore this wonderful area in greater detail!! There are 5 small steps leading up to the front door. Please note that the garden is steep and the slate steps can be slippery when wet. Children should be supervised at all times. |

Linen provided, Cleaning included, Laundry included Please note we do not supply bath or hand towels. T-towels are provided. Changeovers are from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival: 4.00pm.
