Description
Set in the beautiful valley of Blackbrook 'The Byre' has been converted into a spacious comfortable holiday cottage. It has two bedrooms which are located upstairs; having double handrails on the staircase. Bedroom one has a super king bed with en-suite shower room. Bedroom two has a double bed and also has an en-suite. All bedding, towels and toilet rolls are included; a hair-dryer is also provided in both rooms.
Downstairs features a large living space with dining table and chairs, ample seating and includes a flat wide screen TV with Freeview, a DVD player and Wifi.
The Byre has gas central heating lots of hot water and double glazing. The well-equipped kitchen boasts a gas hob, electric oven, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. A washing machine is available on request, it is available for both of our cottages to use in a separate guest utility room.
The patio area is south facing with patio furniture and parasol.The property is ideally suited to sharing couples, unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children as the garden is unsuitable.
Our adjoined second cottage 'The Mistal ' which has one king size bed is also available to let.

Location description
The Byre which is suitable for sharing couples is situated in Blackbrook which is close to the town of Belper located in the Derwent Valley Heritage Corridor.The historic Strutt's North Mill stands next to the River Derwent with its unusual horseshoe weir, tranquil Riverside Gardens with colourful borders and central bandstand.There are nearby restaurants ranging from traditional pub fare and a wide range of international cuisine. Belper was recently named the overall champion high street winner and is also home to a large number of individual shops and coffee houses .
The tourist towns of Ashbourne, Wirksworth, Bakewell and Buxton with an abundance of markets and events happening throughout the year are all within easy reach by car and a bus which passes through Blackbrook once an hour.There is a train station with links to the mainline station in Derby.
Derbyshire's abundance of history is available for all to see at stately homes such as the magnificent Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Kedleston Hall. The Crich Tramway Village is nearby for a fun day out.The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and Peak Rail for the rail enthusiasts.
For the thrill-seeking individual Alton Towers is 45 minutes away with smaller theme parks Gulliver's Kingdom and The Heights of Abraham and cable cars in Matlock Bath 20 minutes away.
The area is an ideal place to explore, with plentiful walks and cycle tracks of varying difficulty, to accompany the beautiful Derbyshire scenery. Cycle hire is available throughout the region at various popular trails with the closest being at Carsington Water, only a 15 minute drive away which also has fishing, boat hire, water sports,bird watching and a wildlife centre.Walkers will find a criss-cross of public footpaths to suit all levels in the immediate local area; the Midshires way passes directly past the property. Circular from your cottage door including pub stops are popular with our guests
The City of Derby is only 25 minutes drive away where world famous Royal Crown Derby have a visitor centre and factory shop.

Directions
From the North
Exit the M1 at junction 28 and proceed on the A38 Southbound (signposted Derby/Birmingham). After approximately 5.5 miles exit for A610 towards Ambergate (signposted for Nottingham/Ripley). At the exit take the 4th exit signposted for Ambergate and Sawmills. Carry on down the A610 until you reach the ‘T’ junction with the A6 (opposite the Hurt Arms pub), then turn left towards Belper. After approximately 2 miles turn right at traffic lights by the large red East Mill following the A517 Ashbourne Rd, after about 1 mile we are located on the right hand side of the road.
From the South
Exit the M1 Northbound at junction 25, taking the 1st exit on the A52 (signposted Derby). After approximately 6 miles, at the roundabout, take the second exit signposted City Centre. Shortly after merge to the right-hand lane for the underpass signposted A6 Matlock. Take the next left exit for Matlock A6 before the Jury’s Inn. Follow signs for the A6 and follow for approximately 4 miles through Allestree and into Duffield. At the first set of traffic lights in Duffield, take a left turn for the B5023 (signposted Wirksworth). Follow this for approximately 4 miles. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right onto Ashbourne Rd A517 (signposted Belper). After approximately 1.8 miles we are situated on the left-hand side of the road.
Rail
The closest railway station is Belper, approximately 1.5 miles away. This is served by services from Nottingham and Derby approximately once per hour. The closest major station is Derby (approximately 9 miles away), with regular direct services from the South West, London, Midlands, Yorkshire, North East and Scotland.
Bus
The Trent Barton service 6.1 from Derby to Matlock/Bakewell stops almost directly outside (ask the driver for Plains Lane, Blackbrook). Please refer to the printed timetable included inside the accommodation or online for current timetable information.
