    Description

    Step into Koru - a traditional stone property with a modern, contemporary interior, with wonderful views to the coast and Bamburgh Castle at the front and to the rolling countryside from the glazed balcony at the back - the best Northumberland has to offer!

    The downstairs hallway leads into the two bedrooms, decorated in calm, coastal colours. The castle bedroom looks out onto your gated, parking courtyard towards Bamburgh Castle, while the garden bedroom looks over the enclosed patio and sheltered garden. Both have spacious built-in wardrobes and wall-mounted, flat screen TVs.

    Opposite the first bedroom is the travertine-tiled bathroom, complete with cozy underfloor heating - sumptuous on chilly winter days - and Kinu toiletries. There's also a utility room with a washer/dryer.

    Take the stairs up to a spacious, light-filled, open plan living area with expansive coastal, castle and countryside views. Dine out on the glazed, west-facing balcony watching migrating birds (or maybe hares), crimson sunsets and starry skies. Or take a comfy seat by the gas log fire to read a book or mull over a glass of wine. The upstairs living area is a great place to relax whatever the weather.

    The little ones will enjoy the stunning Bamburgh Beach just down the road where they can have a go at body boarding or sand sledging. But be sure to bring a wetsuit - the North Sea can be a tad chilly! Or hit the walking trails - St Oswald's way or one of Northumberland's coastal walks. There're also plenty of biking trails and space in the outdoor cupboard to keep them locked away. Plenty of castles to explore lie just on the doorstep - Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Alnwick and Chillingham to name but a few.

    On returning to the cottage there is a wall-mounted TV, DVD player, stereo, WiFi, Blurays, books, outdoor games and board games. The kitchen is also fully equipped with dishwasher, fan oven, microwave, fridge freezer, gas hob, smoothie maker and baking equipment.

    Location description

    The easiest way to get to Koru Cottage is via the A1 motorway. If coming in from overseas you can land at Newcastle upon Tyne airport. Head north on the A1 and follow the directions above.

    Take the A1 north. About 25 minutes north of Alnwick take the right hand turning off the A1 signposted to Bamburgh on the B1341. Follow this road for about 7 minutes. A couple of minutes after crossing the railway tracks you will come to a small hamlet called Glororum (you will see a sign for Glororum Bed and Breakfast). Take the turning to the left just after the buildings (signposted ‘caravan park’). Turn into the last driveway on the left. Koru Cottage is within the set of four cottages called ‘The Granary’. It is No.2 - second from the left.
