Description
Little Byre is a cosy cumbrian cottage but is surprisingly spacious inside. It has full gas central heating and double-glazed windows. We service Little Byre ourselves to ensure that it is always immaculate for our guests.
Downstairs there is a living room/dining area and a lovely well equipped kitchen.
The living room has a large flat-screen TV, DVD and CD player. Quality oak furniture and soft leather furnishings complement the charm of this traditional Cumbrian cottage. There is a dining table which will comfortably seat four people. A cast-iron, living flame gas fire is very welcome on those cooler evenings, along with a range of books, games and jigsaws for you to while away the hours.
The kitchen is fully equipped for all your needs. It includes an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a washing machine plus a fantastic view across the fields towards Skiddaw.With such a view, washing the dishes becomes a pleasure rather than a chore.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom is beautifully fitted out with solid ash furniture. The king-size bed has sumptuous cream and red bedding and a teddy if you forget your own. The large wardrobe and six-drawer dresser provides ample storage for all your clothes.
The rear bedroom with its pine furniture also enjoys beautiful views across the Caldbeck fells towards Skiddaw. It can accommodate 1 or 2 people. Below the comfortable single bed, there is another full-size bed that can be pulled out and set at right angles to accommodate an extra guest.
The family bathroom has a bath (with shower over), shaving socket and plenty of fluffy white towels.
Outside, a small, south-facing, enclosed terrace with patio table and chairs provides an area to sit and enjoy the view

Location description
Little Byre is the perfect place for walking with walks from the door or the higher fells a little further afield. There is a 9 hole golf course just 2 miles away and only 6 miles away is the 18 hole James Braid designed Cockermouth golf course at Embleton. The Cockermouth course combines the pleasure of golf with the spectacular scenery of the Lakeland views.The unspoilt beaches of the Solway coast are just a 20 minute drive away down country lanes. Other local attractions include: Trotters world of Animals, go-ape at Whinlatter Forest (rope adventures through the tree-tops), cycling, watersports at Derwent Water, and The Theatre by the Lake in Keswick. The market towns of Keswick and Cockermouth provide an interesting range of local shops, art galleries, eating places and a variety of pubs and both are just a 20 minute drive away.
