Description
Our beautiful 16th Century home, Butterton Moor House, was originally built as a gentleman's house and working farm and is set within the Peak District National Park and on the edge of the Derbyshire Dales. The stone property now has two self-catering holiday cottages - Butterton Moor Cottage and Butterton Moor Loft.
The excellent leisure facilities include a lovely indoor heated swimming pool, billiards room and childrens' play area with swings, slides and Wendy House. Each cottage has it's own patio and furniture area together with a gas BBQ. An outdoor dining area and pizza oven can be used by both cottages and there are large lawned areas for children to play in.
The stunning scenery and comfortable, homely cottages provide the perfect holiday setting for walking, cycling, visiting historic houses – Chatsworth is close by - or just meandering around the picture postcard villages and enjoying excellent local pubs and restaurants. Riding is available in the area where you can explore the many miles of bridle paths close by.
Families with children of all ages will find a host of activities and places to visit within the Peak District, and the famous Alton Towers Theme Park is just down the road from our holiday cottages!
Butterton Moor Loft is the larger of the two self-catering holiday cottages and is attached to the main house. It is an extremely spacious cottage, sleeping 5 adults comfortably. There is also room for 2 extra guests when required (a maximum of 6 adults).
The attractive country style kitchen is really well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave, toaster, iron and ironing board.
The very large living room, with 2 large sofas, has a CD player, Freeview television with DVD player and a selection of DVDs. There are always magazines and books for you to read too. WiFi is available.
There is a very spacious double bedroom with king-sized bed and ample room for an additional bed or cot, a twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom and a walk through bedroom with a single bed. The large family bathroom has a bath and separate shower.
For larger families or groups both cottages can accommodate additional put up beds to sleep extra guests. With 1 additional bed in the Cottage and 2 in the Loft we can comfortably accommodate 12 guests.
The kitchen in the Loft is large enough to seat 10 guests around the table, allowing larger groups who have booked both properties to eat together.
