    Description

    This family chalet built in 1964 and renovated 2006/7 is, probably, Zermatts best kept secret.

    It is situated in a beautiful elevated position, with uninterrupted views of the Matterhorn, in preserved tranquil surroundings where the natural wildlife roam freely. The Chalet is just 5 minutes walk to the main Klein Matterhorn departure station and to the centre of the village. Access to the chalet is by its own telecabin but it is also accessible by a well-maintained footpath through a wooded area.

    Every detail of the chalet has been carefully planned retaining its characteristic charm. Several new windows have been installed to invite the natural environment and light into the Chalet and using the ancient Chinese method of feng-shui to create a feeling of harmony throughout. Decorated using natural woods and materials with stylish yet comfortable furnishings to compliment its individual character.

    The spacious lounge has a large wood-burning fireplace, comprising ample comfortable seating for 12 people, overlooking the terrace and garden with its breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. It is equipped with plasma TV, DVD, CD/Radio and has wireless Internet connection. Separated from the lounge by glass doors the dining area has a long table that seats 12 and benefits from a feature window overlooking the surrounding mountains and village of Zermatt. The modern kitchen adjoins the dining area.

    The Chalet comprises 5 double bedrooms, 3 with private bathrooms and 1 extra bathroom and a separate WC.
    The is also a tropicarium sauna downstairs in the chalet which is, perfect therapy after a days skiing, with its adjoining relaxation area. Massage and reflexology can be arranged in the Chalet on request.

    If requested Chalet LEcureuil can be catered for by a professional Chef during the winter season. Breakfast and afternoon tea with homemade cakes is served daily and a 4-course dinner with pre-dinner drinks and canaps, wine, coffee and after dinner drinks (5 nights per week). After being collected by Electro Taxi a champagne reception awaits you on arrival in the Chalet and during your stay an extensive choice of wines and a well stocked bar are available for your enjoyment. The rates for this service are available on request.

    There is daily housekeeping and a mid week linen change.

    Location description

    The car free resort of Zermatt is situated at the foot of the Matterhorn in Switzerland and offers access to a ski area of over 400km, connected to Cervinia in Italy. The village is situated at 1560m and with the highest cable car at 3888m it ensures excellent skiing in the winter & great glacier skiing in the summer. A climbers and hikers paradise with 38 peaks over four-thousand metres and breathtaking views Zermatt has something to suit everyone.

    Directions

    41/2 hours by train with only one change from all the main airports Geneva, Zurich and Milan. Easy train connections from Geneva and Zurich airport (train station in the airport) and a possiblity to obtain reduced rate train tickets if purchased before entering Switzerland. (we can advise on this). Taxi transfers available from all airports (we can organise this for you). Zermatt is a car free village so if travelling by car the you can drive as far as Tasch where you must leave the car in the main car park of one the garages and travel the last 10 minutes by train (trains run every 20 minutes) or taxi. Electro taxis are available at the train station to take you to your accommodation.

    Deposit/Booking Notes

    Prices quoted are for 10 persons self-catered. During the winter season the chalet is also available fully catered. Please contact us for a quote for this. Premium weeks are Christmas, New Year and school holiday weeks. During the winter we only take weekly bookings with a Sunday changeover. During the summer, off-season and on last minute bookings special offers and short breaks (min 3 nights) are available. A surcharge of CHF300 will be applied. Terms and conditions of payment: 30% within 10 days. Final payment: 45 days before arrival. Preferred payment is by bank transfer in Swiss Francs. We also accept credit card payments with a 2.8% surcharge. Your booking is valid once deposit is received. All clients are liable for any loss or damage to the rented property.
    Cancellation policy:
    90 days notification: Refundable deposit minus admin cost of CHF300.
    Less than 90 days: Non refundable deposit.
    Less than 45 days: Full payment unless property can be re-rented but admin charges will be applicable.
