Description
St Martin Chalets is a beautiful self-catering resort, only 5 minutes from local amenities, but with a difference. Unlike most other self-catering holidays, at St Martin Chalets you have as much or as little help from the resort owners as you want. You'll find a whole week's worth of activities on a print-out when you arrive in your chalet (most of which are included) and you can arrange evening meals and breakfasts if you require them.
The resort is ideal for adult groups, friends and families and each chalet is completely private and fully equipped. St Martin is the little sister to the small alpine town of St Michael, which sits beneath some of the highest peaks in Austria.
The chalets are extremely luxurious and built entirely from local timber. They are also unusually eco-friendly. As well as being locally sourced, the timber is untreated, while the windows are triple glazed and the walls are lined with 100% pure sheep's wool insulation. Meanwhile the entire resort is heated by a state of the art vegetable oil-powered central heating unit. All water comes from a natural spring (although for irrigation we use collected rainwater).
The chalets come in different sizes - from a small 4-bed apartment to a large chalet that sleeps 14. Most of our ten chalets sleep 6 or 10. All of the chalets share access to our central facilities, complete with sauna, gym, recreation/cinema room and pampering / treatment area.
Every chalet has a fully equipped kitchen and TV lounge, while some also come equipped with games consoles, DVDs and board games. We also have our own bikes and electric E-Bikes and regularly run guided tours.

Location description
St Michael is one of a number of small towns in the Lungau region of Salzburgerland. It is a very authentic part of Austria, where you can experience customs, traditions and festivals that have been forgotten in many other regions. Summer activities include golf (there's a championship course only 2km away from the chalets), cycling, hiking, paragliding, fishing, white water rafting and canyoning. Winter activities focus around skiing and snowboarding. There are 5 interconnected ski areas, which combine to provide a very large ski area, which caters well to all abilities.

Directions
Cheap flights are available to both Salzburg and Klagenfurt, from where you can rent a car or we can arrange a transfer. Most hire companies can provide pick up at one of the airports above and drop off at the other, which provides extra flexibility.
