Description
Close to both the 3 Vallees and Paradiski Ski domains, Le Chalet de Ski (formerly named Chez Helene) is a traditional but modern comfortable wooden chalet located in the pretty Alpine village of Montagny, on the sunny side of the Bozel valley, opposite the ski resort of La Tania. The chalet is just 15 mins drive from the ski lifts at Champagny for La Plagne/Paradiski and 20 mins drive to Le Praz for Courchevel/3 Vallees, and 25 mins drive to Meribel Village.
The chalet was built in 2004, and newly furbished for the 2011/12 ski season.
Facing due South the chalet benefits from natural light and heat from the low winter sun throughout the ski season and is very airy, light, warm and cosy when the sun is shining. A very eco efficient wood pellet burner (programable/timer) otherwise heats the chalet.
NEW for 21/22 a huge 2.85m x 2.55m Steam/Sauna room with 3 tier bench seating, blue tooth and mood lighting. IT's AMAZING !
With 6 bedrooms & 8 double beds, the chalet comfortably sleeps 8-16.

All beds have comfortable memory foam mattresses, all with mattress and pillow protectors.
Egyptian cotton towels and bed sheets are provided weekly, with either 45% goose down feather & down duvets or non allergenic microfibre duvets. Light summer duvets are also available.

Open plan living/dining/kitchen area. Seating for 10 in the lounge. Dining table/chairs for 6-12.

Induction hob/electric oven/microwave, large fridge/freezer, filter and cappuccino coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster, cutlery and dinner service for 16, hairdryers, washing machine/tumble dryer & dishwasher.
Patio doors to sunny balcony & 40sqm decked patio/BBQ area.
The property is not adapted for wheelchair use and persons with limited mobility would find the upper floors of the chalet unsuitable, but may be able to use the self contained ground floor studio (accessed via 2 standard width doorways). Stair gates are available to protect young children. Pets are allowed by prior agreement, for a charge of 50/pet/week.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the chalet.
The chalet has two South facing balconies & a 40 sqm patio, all with magnificent views of the 3 Vallees mountains & specifically the ski resort of La Tania. In the Spring and Summer you can watch the paragliders flying above the Col de la Loze, & Buzzards, Eagles and other birds of Prey, thermalling above you. The chalet has plentiful parking. A short walk from the chalet brings you to magnificent views of the Grand Bec mountain beyond Bozel, and to stunning views of the valley floor to the bright lights of Bride les Bains in the evenings. The village is wonderful to walk around, the local people so friendly and welcoming, and the houses in the old quarter are simply fascinating. The road up from the village takes you high up the mountain of Mont Jovet (late Spring to early winter), and just short of the top of La Plagne (which is accessible by foot, but only when the snow has thawed).
Restaurants/bars/ski hire/pharmacy/food stores/butchers/bakers/banks are all available just 6 mins drive away in Bozel.

Location description
Le Chalet de Ski (formerly named Chez Helene) is located in the pretty mountain Village of Montagny (Chef Lieu), and is between the worlds largest (the 3 (Trois) Vallees) and third largest (Paradiski) linked ski domains, offering skiers over 1000km of pisted sking on our doorstep. Montagny is at 1000m above sea level, on the sunny side of the Bozel valley. The village is effectively on the back of the La Plagne ski resort, is above Brides-les-Bains (15 mins drive) which has direct access via ski lift to Meribel, and is directly opposite the ski resort of La Tania (Courchevel). The ski lift at Le Praz provides direct access to the ski resort of Courchevel, and is just 20 mins drive away. The ski lift at Champagny-en-Vanois is just 15 mins drive by car providing direct access to La Plagne and the Paradiski domain. Fantastic restaurants and bars are located in Bozel (6 mins), and also in Champagny-en-Vanois (15 mins)/Le Praz (20 mins). The village does have its own local bar, but I have yet to work out its strange opening hours. Annecy, with its beautiful lake, and world class paragliding is just over an hour away. Tour de France routes, such as Courchevel, The Col de Madeline, etc are all accessible by bike directly from the chalet. The chalet is becoming increasingly popular with cyclists in the spring and summer months. We are also keen to attract paraglider pilots, mountain bikers and walkers out of ski season.

Directions
Easyjet fly daily into Geneva (preferred) and Lyon all year, and in Ski season to Grenoble. Other operators also fly to Chambery (the closest airport - but is expensive and not reliable in bad weather conditions). Trains go to Moutiers from London, Paris, Geneva and Lyon (all via Chambery). By car, I recommend the following route:- Dover/Calais/Reims/Dijon/Geneva/Annecy/Ugine/Albertville/Moutier/Bozel/Montagny. I can provide airport/train station transfers.
