    Chalet Cannelle is a luxury ski chalet offering a perfect stay whilst you enjoy the skiing and snowboarding of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski regions in the world. Located in Chatel, the centre of the Portes du Soleil with 650km of pistes crossing both France and Switzerland in 13 ski stations with skiing for every ability.

    Unassuming from the outside but step through the door of Chalet Cannelle to be greeted by the magnificent mountain views from inside a 200 year old cowshed that has had a complete renewal. The spacious open plan living area boasting original features and exposed beams is perfectly matched with a comfortable and contemporary interior, uniquely designed and created.

    Everything is about comfort with comfy seating in the large open plan living space around the log fire with views of the Abondance valley through double height windows - the perfect spot to relax after an active day in the mountains. After afternoon tea, take a soak in the outdoor hot tub surrounded in snow before aperitifs and canapés are served around the fire.

    On the mezzanine, you will find the TV room, a great hangout for the kids with cosy corners for their own post-ski chill time. There are toys, games and books as well as a large private garden to build snowmen in the winter or play in the summer. There are no roads to worry about and the garden is overlooked by the living area and balcony for your peace of mind.

    There are 6 ensuite bedrooms, each with everything you would expect for a luxury stay; fine quality Egyptian cotton bed linen on super comfy beds, sumptuous towels, gorgeous toiletries & bathrobes. The bathrooms have a mix of walk-in showers and baths to suit everyone. Each bedroom is individually styled to create this unique boutique chalet.

    The style of dining at Chalet Cannelle is chefs table, with the open plan kitchen & dining space allowing guests to see what is being created for the evening’s meal; everything is made from scratch with real ingredients so expect to see fresh pasta or pastry being rolled, bread being kneaded or ice cream being churned. We like to say that the dishes we serve you are cooking without cheating; We don't cut corners and if the best tasting pork takes 18 hours to cook, then we take 18 hours to cook it.

    We serve a varied menu for your stay, from contemporary French and Italian dishes to shared banquet style dining for a Thai feast. Our inspiration comes from our travels and adventures in other countries and we love to share experiences with our guests. If you would like a sample menu, please get in touch.     Situated in the magnificent Portes du Soleil, Chalet Cannelle is minutes away from the ski lifts of Super Châtel and Linge / Pre-le-Joux, linking with 650km of terrain including Avoriaz and Morzine.

    Châtel’s position on the south facing slope surrounded by the beautiful Abondance valley makes it truly picture perfect, with alpine chalets and pine trees everywhere you look – you won’t find any high rise concrete buildings here!

    The offering of a traditional alpine village with the modern amenities is unique – Châtel has an old charm atmosphere that is hard to find. In the summer, the sound of cow bells will remind you that Châtel is still a rustic farming village as well as a world class holiday destination.

    Châtel has been awarded the Station Verte, Station Class and Famille Plus for its unspoilt environment, high standard of tourist facilities and family friendly attitude.
