Tyn Y Ffridd is a beautiful holiday cabin in Snowdonia. It sleeps four guests in two bedrooms and is perfect for couples and families. It is set in a peaceful location near Bronaber village (within walking distance of a cafe/restaurant), about three miles from Trawsfynydd village and lake. Clean air and bright night skies in this part of the Snowdonia National Park.
The area around Trawsfynydd is world-famous with mountain bikers, hikers and lovers of adventure, and you will find plenty of opportunity whatever your preferred activity and skill level is. Coed-y-Brenin mountain bike centre is only two miles from Tyn y Ffridd, and you can ride there directly from the cabin. Blaenau Ffestiniog has more world-class mountain biking trails, including some hair-raising downhills! The historic town is also home to Zip World Caverns and Bounce Below, as well as the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Heritage Railway - for some of the most stunning scenery in the Snowdonia National Park. Despite its peaceful appearance, the region has a rich and diverse history that you can learn more about at the Llys Ednowain Heritage Centre. Tomen-y-Mur Roman Fort was part of the Romans campaign to solidify their rule in Wales. The Normans later built a fort there, and the extensive ruins of both are visible today, whether you incorporate them into a longer walk or park in the nearby carpark. The vibrant market town of Dolgellau is only ten miles south of Bronaber. It is an excellent choice to stock up on provisions and for refreshments. Hikers will appreciate the beauty of the Precipice Walk, or you can take your bike and cycle along the Mawddach River Bike Trail. Another town to see is Porthmadog. It is 15 miles away by car but also on the Ffestiniog train line, and known for the colourful resort of Portmeirion as well as its lovely harbour.
Tyn y Ffrydd is a Norwegian log cabin that has been updated and fully insulated to provide a warm and welcoming bolt-hole for all seasons. Accommodation is on one level. The living/dining room is open plan, with comfortable seating, dining table and chairs for four people. There is free WiFi so you can bring your tablet or laptop and keep up with your favourite shows. The living room has an electric fireplace for cold weather. The fitted kitchen is compact but very well equipped with everything you want for self-catering, including a microwave, fridge/freezer, electric oven and stove, and ample cupboard space. Master bedroom with a double bed and plenty of storage and hanging space for your clothing. Second bedroom furnished with two single bunk beds and good storage for bags and clothing. Modern shower room with a powerful electric shower, WC and hand basin. Spacious enclosed porch ideal for leaving outdoor equipment ready for your next days adventure.
The raised deck area has lovely views of the surrounding mountains and countryside, with space underneath to store bikes. The cabin has a garden planted with mature shrubs and trees. There is off-street parking for two cars at the front of the cabin.
Free WiFi, and all utilities, linen and towels are included.
Short breaks are possible outside of school holidays with a minimum of three nights.
