Description
Traditionally built with silver pine logs, Snowbear log cabin is fully fitted with all of the modern essentials to make your holiday comfortable and more relaxing.
Our cabin can accommodate a couple for a romantic break or a larger group of up to 10. There are 2 twin bedrooms downstairs, 2 single beds & 2 mattress beds on the mezzanine, as well as a double sofa bed in the lounge. The cabin is great for families with space for the children to play on the mezzanine. There are stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs for safety. We provide some DVDs, books and games. Cot , high chair and potty available.
The downstairs has an open-plan, fully fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge.
The spacious shower room leads to the sauna. There is a toilet and wash-basin on each floor. The balcony at the rear of the cabin overlooks the forest where you can watch for reindeer. There is a shared wood store and ski preparation room. After a tiring day's activities, curl up in front of the welcoming fire or relax in your own private sauna.
The cross country ski trails start close to the cabin and the ski bus to the fell for downhill skiing stops approximately 200m away.
It is only a short walk to the well-stocked supermarket, shops and local restaurants. Local companies are close by to arrange all your activities.
In summer you can hike or cycle from the door. Canoeing, birdwatching and fishing are also popular summer activities. Autumn colours are beautiful and because of this September is a popular time to visit.
Santa lives in his cottage at the edge of the village! You can visit him in December. He and Rudolph can even make a private visit to the cabin.

Location description
Yllas consists of 2 villages, Akaslompolo and Yllasjarvi which lie on opposite sides of one of the highest fells in Lapland.The Pallas-Yllas National Park border is just outside the village.
Yllas has a long ski season with guaranteed snow providing ideal conditions for a wide range of activities for all. Enjoy uncrowded downhill skiing/snowboarding. Extensive cross country ski tracks (330km) start close to the cabin.
Other activities easily arranged locally include snowmobiling, husky sled trips and snowshoeing. Visit Santa, learn about the Sami way of life, enjoy a reindeer sleigh ride. Good chance of observing the Northern Lights.
In summer, experience the midnight sun. Enjoy "everyman's right" to roam and explore the beautiful fells, forests and lakes on your doorstep by foot, bike, canoe or horse. Excellent lake and river fishing. There is a swimming beach on the local lake

Husky sleigh rides, reindeer sleigh rides, snowmobiling, snowshoeing. Visit Santa at his cottage in the village (December). Orienteering.
