Description
With ramp access and all on one level the accommodation provides a great place for children and people who struggle with steps. The accommodation has one King size en-suite shower room, one twin bedroom, a family bathroom with bath, separate shower, sink and toilet.
Enter through a Utility room into the open plan kitchen, dining, sitting area: Here you can sit at the french door and watch the birds, the red squirrels and if you are lucky the deer. From the lounge a big picture windows gives a view of Loch Earn. The cottage is close to the Route 7 Cycle Network and many local munros if you like cycling or hiking. There is also fishing at nearby Loch Earn and the cottage is centrally located for visiting sights in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

Location description
Walking
Whether you enjoy a strenuous hill walk or a quiet evening stroll you’ll find plenty of variety nearby. There are numerous Munros and Corbetts within 30 minute’s drive including our two local Munros of Ben Vorlich and Stuc a’ Chroin. Easier walks can be enjoyed from the cottage and throughout the National Park.
Golf
Picturesque courses such as St. Fillans, Comrie, Killin, Crieff and Callander are within 30 minutes drive. Gleneagles is easily reached within the hour. The Perthshire Green Card offers discounted green fees on 19 of the county’s courses.
Cycling
National Cycle Route 7 passes through Lochearnhead giving traffic free cycling on the former railway track between Callander and Killin. Scenic local rides can also be enjoyed on the quiet roads along Balquhidder Glen and the southern shores of Loch Earn and Loch Tay.
Water Sports
Lochearnhead Water Sports Centre offers a whole range of water-based activities on Loch Earn and facilities for launching your own craft.
Fishing
Salmon and trout can be fished on Loch Earn, either by boat or from the bank. Permits and bait are available locally. A little further afield you’ll find more than enough lochs and rivers to keep you fishing
Wildlife
Red squirrels and a wide variety of birdlife may be attracted to the cottage garden, where roe deer may also be spotted at dawn and dusk. Birds of prey can be found throughout the National Park and red kite can be watched at the Argaty Red Kite Centre near Doune.
Skiing
Why not have a winter break and use the cottage as a base for skiing? Roads are quieter at this time of year making for quicker access to the nearer resorts, Glencoe (40 miles), Nevis Range (68 miles) and Glenshee (76 miles).
Directions
From the A85, after passing through the village of Lochearnhead with the Watersports Centre on your left – when you reach the junction turn left. Follow the road for approx ˝ mile looking out for the sign for St Angus Church.
You will turn right onto Craggans Road just before the end of the 30 mph restriction. Please follow the road until you see Allt Beag on your right.
From the A84 after passing through Strathyre you will pass Balquhidder Station. As you see the speed restriction signs go to 30 mph you will see the sign for St Angus Church. Turn left and follow the road for a few minutes until you see Allt Beag on your right.
