    Description

    New in 2013 The Nuthatch is also dog friendly and located just off the quiet back road to Millbeck and next door to Appletree Cottage.
    Being so close to the lower reaches of Dodd Wood and the foot of Skiddaw it offers an abundance of wildlife from Roe Deer, Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, Buzzards, Dragonfly, Red Squirrel and Hedgehogs.

    There is a variety of walks from the doorstep ranging from easy low level to as strenuous and as long as you like. Keswick is only 2.5 miles away with all the Lake District amenities and attractions being within easy reach. There is parking for one car within the paling fence and two cars 20 meters from the front door on a level parking area.

    General Description
    From the spacious porch area you step into the open plan living and kitchen area which has comfortable seating, a much loved woodburner stove, TV, DVD, dining table and chairs, lamps and coffee table. A selection of DVDs, reading books, Explorer maps 4, 5, 6,& 7 and wireless and speaker dock for ipad and iphone are also supplied.

    The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric hob and oven, microwave, built in fridge freezer, toaster, kettle and sink.
    The views from the open plan living and kitchen area take in the beautiful Blearberry Fell and Walla Crag.

    The hallway leads you to two bedrooms one double and one twin, the bathroom, utility room and back door. The double room has a comfortable bed with wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps, CD radio clock alarm and chest of drawers with mirror.

    The twin room has two adult size single beds, a bedside table, a wardrobe, lamp and CD radio clock alarm.

    The bathroom is fitted with a Mira Power Shower, bath, WC, vanity sink unit and mirror. The utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, cleaning materials and plenty of cupboard and floor space.

    The front of The Nuthatch has a mature garden with a pond that is regularly used by birds and the occasional frog. There is a paved area and raised patio area, garden table and chairs. The grounds are enclosed by a paling fence and steep bank allowing your pets freedom within the safety of The Nuthatch grounds.

    Tea towels, washing-up liquid, cloths, handwash and your initial supply of tea bags, coffee, sugar and toilet rolls are provided.

    Location description

    I love the abundance of wildlife that is both at and around the cottages. There are paths up Skiddaw, Carlside, Dodd from the door, a quiet high level road that you walk into Keswick or a low level path that follows the river in to Keswick. The views are breathtaking looking over Bleaberry Fell and Grisedale Pike. At the cottages you have the peace and quiet yet Keswick with its abundance of dog friendly pubs and good grub are only 2.5miles away.

Short breaks are available from 20th November 2017 ending 11th March 2018.
