Description
A wonderful, comfortable colonial, planter style bungalow - but with the advantage of being newly built and therefore having modern facilities. Rooms are spacious and cool with high ceilings and furnished with Mahogany and wild silks.
Caretakers Martin and Rani will look after your every wish and make sure that you feel thoroughly pampered and at home. Because Jungle Tide is our home, we love our visitors to relax and enjoy their visit as much as we do when we are here.
Jungle Tide is a place to make your base in central Sri Lanka. So many visitors to Sri Lanka make the mistake of trying to see too much in one trip. Transport is slow and the best way to appreciate this wonderful island is at its own pace. So why not spend a week or more based at Jungle Tide and perhaps another week or more on the coast? From Jungle Tide you can visit many places in a day trip, and others with an overnight stay away.
The wildlife around the house is fantastic with dozens of species of birds, mammals and butterflies to enjoy watching. Swim in the pool and watch eagles circle above your head. You can also walk through the tea estates and in the Hanthana mountains either using one of our self-guided trails or with a professional guide and naturalist. Take a walk around our village with Martin, visit the village school, shops and bakery; have a cookery lesson with Rani; visit and support the TEA Project nearby and see the valuable work they do with tea pickers and their families. At Jungle Tide you will get more than a holiday, you will get an insight into the real Sri Lanka.
Prices shown are per week for the whole house. Please enquire for other rates. Availability calendar is also for the whole house. If you require one or two rooms on dates where no availability is shown please enquire as dates may be available.
