    Thorn Bank is a recently renovated town house right in the centre of Sherborne. Three minutes walk from the famous Abbey, High Street, Shops, Pubs and Restaurants.

    There are two large double rooms in the main house, The Blue Room and The Red Room. Both have their own spacious bathroom with real roll-top baths, not a poky little shower. AA rated 4 star and Highly Commended, Thorn Bank is the ideal place to stay if you are visiting for a wedding or function while providing a central location for wider exploring of this beautiful part of Dorset. A third option is the newly converted 'Old Dairy' next to the main house. Just as luxurious but with self catering facility for complete independence.

    For those arriving by car, Thorn Bank has a large off-road private parking facility quite a rarity in the town.

    Location description

    Perfectly located for all Sherborne's facilities. Both castles, one built by Sir Walter Raleigh, the gardens and lake. The Abbey is a few minutes walk as are the shops and restaurants. Cerne Abbas giant is 10 minutes by car on the A352. Dorchester 20 minutes away and further on the Jurassic coast of Dorset with beautiful Poole Harbour and Brownsea island, the last home to the English red squirrel.

    The Sherborne Tourist office in the Digby Road provides full information on all local Dorset activities and entertainment.

    Directions

    Sherborne BR Train Station is an easy 4 minute walk up South Street then right into Long Street. Thorn Bank is 150 metres down on the left hand side towards the Eastbury Hotel. You'll recognise it from the website picture. A large four square magnolia colour house.
    By car, from the A30 turn into North Road, cross Newland then into St. Swithins Road, turn right at the T junction, Thorn Bank is 100yds on the right.
