Description
Els Canterers is an original potters house dating back to the early 1800s which has undergone a complete refurbishment in 2008. The guesthouse has been beautifully restored and furnished with elegant antique-style furniture. The house offers 5 bedrooms (2 doubles and 3 twins), all with en-suite bathroom with shower, W.C and hairdryer. All rooms have individually controlled central heating and tea & coffee making facilities. The garden area at the rear of the house overlooks the neighbouring vineyard and has sunloungers, a 6-seater jacuzzi and tables for those who wish to have breakfast outside in the spring and summer months.
Miravet is a charming medieval village nestled beside the River Ebro and is overlooked by the imposing cliff-top castle, dating back to the 11th Century, known as one of the best preserved examples of Romanesque, religious and military architecture of the Templar order in the Western world. The landscape surrounding the village is beautiful and flourishes with fruit trees during the spring and summer season; cherries, apricots, plums and peaches give this county it’s well-deserved name of “The land of the sweet fruits”. There is an endless list of activities for all tastes, from cultural and historical sites, nature reserves, river fishing, cycling, walking, painting and sailing.
You will be guaranteed a very warm welcome at Els Canterers.

Location description
Miravet is a beautiful historical village nestled beside the River Ebro. Take a stroll around the old part of town and stop for a drink in one of the bars. The views are breathtaking on the walk up to the Templar castle. This is a quiet area of Catalonia where you can still go out and about and enjoy the peace and quiet of authentic Catalan country life. There are lots os small villages, walks, historical sites and activities to do. If you fancy a day by the coast you can take the short drive (35 mins) to L'Ampolla or l'Ametlla del Mar and see the daily catch coming in off the fishing boats. The Ebro Delta is an hour away where you can see the rice fields and a vast array of birdlife. For lunch, why not stop at one of the many fish restaurants!
Other activities
There are short boat trips running on the River Ebro (usually from Miravet) during the summer months. There is also a municipal open-air swimming pool a 5 min walk from the house from the end of June to 1st week of Sep (small entrance fee).
Local events
The Cherry Festival is celebrated in June every year in Miravet.
Tourist attractions
Miravet Templar castle, wine region of Priorat, cycling on the Greenway, hiking in Els Ports mountain range, walking on local paths through fruit farms, Benifallet caves, visit to the coast, Spanish civil war sites etc.
