    Description

    7 Aspire is one of 12 apartments on the second and third floors of a new development at 31 Bootham.

    Access to the property is via lift/stairs from a secure entrance adjacent to a handy Sainsburys Local supermarket. Although the apartment does not have its own car parking, the development is adjacent to the Bootham Row public car park. This car park has 24 hour access, and the apartment comes with a Parking Permit that entitles a vehicle to be parked free of charge. Alternatively, if you are arriving by train or long-distance coach, the apartment is a 3 minute taxi ride from the railway station (where the National Express coach drop-off is also located), and the fare should be about 3.50. Our Housekeeper will meet you at the ground floor entrance, will give you the Parking Permit if required, and will take you up to the apartment on the third floor, to show you around.

    All of the rooms are accessed from the hallway. In a hallway cupboard is the apartments central heating boiler, but also contains a vacuum cleaner, ironing board and steam iron.

    The main living space includes a kitchen, dining area, and an area to relax. The fully-fitted kitchen is equipped with built-in fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer, as well as an electric oven and grill, microwave oven and induction hob. Naturally the kitchen includes all the cutlery, crockery, glassware, utensils and cookware that you are likely to need. The dining-area seats 4 in comfort with an oak and leather dining suite. The lounge provides seating for 4 and includes a state-of-the-art wide-screen 3D high-definition television. The television is tuned to receive both Freeview and Freesat TV channels, displaying nearly 400 TV, text and radio channels. Attached to the television is a 3D Blu-ray player capable of playing all formats of pre-recorded disk; a library of Blu-ray and DVD disks are provided for guest use. Moreover, a selection of books and board games are provided, to keep you going if the television gets boring! For those that need to keep connected to the outside world, the apartment is fitted with wi-fi, and the main television incorporates high-definition Skype camera connectivity if you need to keep in touch with friends or family.

    The main bedroom includes a king-size bed, bed-side cabinets and built-in wardrobe and drawers. A hair-dryer, hair-straighteners and curling iron are provided, as well as a second flat-screen television. Opening off the main bedroom is a quality-finished en-suite that is fitted with wall-hung basin and toilet, as well as a large shower. The second bedroom is equipped with twin beds, complemented by free-standing solid oak bed-side cabinets, a tallboy chest of drawers and a wardrobe. Moreover, a second hair-dryer is also provided. The main bathroom is adjacent to the second bedroom and along with a wall-hung basin and toilet, there is a bath with built-in shower over.

    Only the finest quality towels and linens are provided - 100% Egyptian cotton towels, 600 Thread Count cotton sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers, a choice of 100% Hungarian goose down or anti-allergy microfibre duvets, and latex/pocket-sprung mattresses.

    Following feedback from our guests, we have recently installed air conditioning. No matter how warm the weather outside, we can guarantee a comfortable night's sleep in our bedrooms.

    For those who might want to explore York and its surrounding area on two wheels, the apartment includes secure cycle storage/motorcycle parking on the ground floor, with access directly opposite the Bootham Row public car park.

    Finally, the apartment has stunning views - the south-facing windows overlook the St. Marys Abbey walls on the other side of the street and the Yorkshire Museum gardens and Abbey ruins in the distance - the east-facing windows frame views of York Minster only 250m away.

    Location description

    York is one the country's main tourist centres. There is a multitude of things to see and do only minutes away on foot, places to shop as well as cafes, bars and restaurants of all types. York is renowned for its architecture, museums and its cultural heritage, including theatres, cinemas and street entertainment. For those here for a longer stay, the area around York contains many attractions, from stately homes to theme parks, from magnificent countryside to traditional English seaside; the choice of attractions within one hour travelling of York, could fill holidays for years.

    7 Aspire Holiday Apartment is located less than 100m from Bootham Bar, one of the historic gates to the walled city of York. The apartment has views of York Minster only 250m away to the east, and overlooks St Mary's Abbey walls and ruins to the south. The area around Bootham Bar is a mixture of Regency and Victorian buildings - everything from grand faades to humble red brick, a mixture of retail, office, entertainment and residential properties.

    York is served by a main-line railway station and national coach links, which arrive just a 3 minute taxi ride from the apartment. For those arriving by car/motorcycle, York is accessed from a network of good quality motorways and dual carriageways, with free parking for one vehicle provided in the public car park adjacent to the apartment, and secure cycle storage/motorcycle parking on the ground floor. York is 45 minutes drive from Leeds/Bradford airport, less than an hour's drive from Robin Hood Airport (Doncaster) and about one and a half hour's drive from Manchester and East Midlands airports, served by a mixture of scheduled, charter and low-cost airlines from around Europe and beyond.

    Deposit/Booking Notes

    Minimum Stay. We accept 2 night bookings during our low season (January and February), but during Xmas/New Year, bookings must be for a minimum of 4 nights. At all other times there is a three night minimum stay requirement, though 2 night bookings for stays due to commence within 3 weeks would be considered as well as 2-night gaps in between existing bookings.

    Rates. Rates for the apartment are charged per night accordingly to the night of the week and the time of the year; weekend nights are Fri-Sat; weekday nights are Sun-Thu. For stays between 2-8 nights there is a 100 service charge per stay; this includes the provision of all towels and bed-linen, and incorporates an end of stay cleaning charge. For stays of 9 or more nights, we provide a mid-stay or weekly clean and change of bed linen/towels for an extra fee of 60 per week.

    Infants. We are content to accommodate infants in the apartment for no additional charge. We do provide a travel cot for guest use, though guests will have to make their own arrangements regarding the provision of suitable bedding. Please note we do not provide a high chair.

    Timings. The property is available from 2:00pm on the day of arrival, and must be vacated by 10:00am on the day of departure. Guests should note that we cannot accommodate arrivals after 11:00pm.

    Security Deposit. A refundable 200 security deposit is required, which will be returned within 7 days of the end of any stay provided the property is left in good order. There is no charge for the use of the Parking Permit, though failure to return it at the end of the stay will involve a deduction from the bond to cover subsequent guests parking fees, and permit replacement fees.

    Payment Schedule. We request a deposit (20% of the total rate) to be paid within 7 days of our confirmation of availability, with the balance and the security deposit paid no later than 5 weeks from your first night of stay. For bookings made within 6 weeks of your intended stay, we require full payment of the total rate and the bond within 7 days of our reply. If you subsequently cancel your booking, we will refund any service charge or security deposit paid immediately, but refunds of any nightly rates paid will be made only if we can re-let the period you had booked. It is advisable to take out your own travel insurance policy to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
