Description
Lou Marcelou is a beautiful village house in St Croix du Verdon, a typical provencal hilltop village in a stunning location overlooking Lac St Croix in the Parc National Du Verdon. There is accommodation for 2/4 people.

With breathtaking views of the lake and the foothills of the Alps, Lou Marcelou offers a superb location in this beautiful region of France and can be reached in under 2 hours from the airports of Marseilles and Nice to the south.
Parking is available on the street directly outside the apartment
From the front door which is framed by an ancient grape vine you enter into the downstairs open plan living area which has a kitchen and dining area together with a large L shaped settee which doubles as a sofabed if required.
There is also a downstairs WC and store cupboard.
Upstairs there is a mezanine floor which has a double bed and modern shower room with an additional WC. There are nice views of the village houses from the shuttered window, and the rooflight makes it very bright and airy.
There is a stunning view of the lake and distant hills from the
french windows and the double height ceiling gives a wonderful sense of space. Outside there is a balcony with a table and two chairs which provides a fantastic position to enjoy the view from.
There is the use of a shared washing machine in the cellar under the lower apartment, where there is also additional storage space for bikes or other bulky items.

Location description
St Croix Village
The village is built high on a promontory overlooking the lake and is centred around it's sixteenth century church. The old village has some lovely houses and pretty public squares.
There are only around 100 permanant residents but the numbers swell considerably in the season.
There are cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy local dishes on their terraces against the fabulous backdrop of the lake and mountains together with some gift and craft shops selling local produce.
The village also has a local supermarket and tourist information centre
The Lac
A vivid turquoise colour, the Lac is 14km long and 2km wide. It was formed in 1973 following the building of the barrage at the southern end to provide drinking water for the cities to the south. The Lac now provides a magnificent venue for a variety of activities on and around it.
