    Once a hotel, this traditional Lakeland building has been converted into separate apartments.

    Apartment 7 has received the prestigious 4 Star Gold Award from Enjoy England. We maintain high standards and provide many personal touches to create a true 'home from home' feel.
    Many of our guests return to No.7 year after year - we hope you do too!

    No. 7 is located on the ground floor, to the rear of the property.  It has a private entrance which leads to an inner hallway with storage space for coats and boots.

    The property has gas central heating with individual radiator
    thermostats.

    The open plan living/dining room is spacious with a comfortable sitting area equipped with television, Sky Freesat, DVD and radio/CD player.  Free Wifi Broadband is available for your use.
     
    On the bookcase you will find a variety of books, DVDs and a selection of walking guides for use during your stay. For your convenience, we provide a range of tourist information and leaflets for local attractions and places to visit, to help you plan your holiday.

    Our modern kitchen is fully fitted with an integrated self-igniting gas hob, fan-assisted oven, washer dryer, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. The cupboards are well stocked with utensils you would need on a self catering holiday. An iron, airer and ironing board are also provided and cleaning products are available for your use.

    Tastefully decorated, the large double bedroom is fitted with solid pine furniture and has plenty of storage space. A choice of seasonal, hollow-fibre duvets are provided and the bed is made up for your arrival. A hairdryer is provided for your use.

    The en suite bathroom has a Mira shower over a full-size bath, WC and washbasin. Help yourself to the bubble bath!

    There is private, off-road car parking immediately in front of the apartment. Garden furniture is available for your use on the patio outside the apartment.

    Location description

    Harney Peak is ideally situated for you to explore this beautiful part of the Northern Lake District all year-round, whether by foot, car, bike or boat.

    The tranquil village of Portinscale lies on the northern edge of Derwent Water and is surrounded by some of the most magnificent scenery in the Lake District National Park including the Skiddaw Range and Borrowdale Valley. All four seasons will offer breath taking views of the fells, valleys, lakes and forests.

    From the doorstep of No. 7 there are a variety of walks, suitable for all ages and abilities. We provide walking books for use during your stay to help you explore the area.

    Come and enjoy the views by taking a leisurely stroll down to the water's edge or hire a canoe, kayak or rowing boat from one of the two marinas in the village. Alternativley, take a relaxing boat trip across the lake from one of the lakeshore jetties.

    Within the village refreshments and meals can be taken at The Farmers Arms public house and two hotel restaurants; The Derwent Lodge and The Derwentwater Hotel - all less than five minutes walk away.

    The village store and tea room are situated directly opposite Harney Peak.

    A scenic 10–15 minute walk takes you to the popular town of Keswick with its variety of shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs to suit every taste. Evening entertainment includes a cinema and the award winning Theatre by the Lake with its year- round programme of exhibitions and live performances. The lively Saturday market sells local produce and crafts and throughout the year there is a variety of festivals and the Keswick Show.
