Description
The flat (ideal for a couple but which can sleep up to 4) is on the second floor of what is undoubtedly an ancient if modest building (16th or 17th century?) and is largely open plan with kitchen and bathroom. The living area (of about 40 square metres). Ceilings are about 3.5 metres high. It is centrally heated with an independent boiler above the bathroom, and air conditioning for the summer months. There is wifi, of course.
The front area gives onto the street and has an old (filled in) fireplace with cushions for seating, armchair, terracotta tiles and a sofa bed (single but with a separate bed beneath which can be pulled out). The main door opens into this part of the flat.
The rear area contains a table and chairs, double sofa-bed and spacious built-in cupboards (and a raised storage area). The window gives onto a tiny inner courtyard as does the adjacent bathroom. The floor is in parquet tiling.
The kitchen has a double sink, stove with oven, fridge and washing machine, shelving and a dresser for storing crockery and dry goods. The bathroom has a shower, basin and WC.

Location description
Central Florence hardly needs introduction, but rest assured that all the major sites are pretty much walking distance from the flat. The flat is located in a long narrow street and the quartiere (known as the 'Oltrarno', beyond the river) is one of the few areas of the city still relatively unaffected by mass tourism. There are lots of local shops, cafés, restaurants, antique shops and a market in Piazza Santo Spirito every morning. The square is a very lively meeting place, especially in summer.
Directions
From Pisa Airport - Pisamover to Pisa Centrale and then the first train to Florence. Pisamover tickets can be bought from a machine by the gates; tickets to Florence from a machine near where you get off the shuttle (or the station hall).
From Florence Airport - There is a regular tram service from the airport to the Coach Station near Santa Maria Novella.
From Bologna Station - trhere is a shuttle service to the main railway station and regular fast trains to Florence
If you are coming by car - the best option is to park at the park and ride at Villa Costanza and take the tram in to the station (https://parcheggiovillacostanza.it/en/`)
