Looking to escape from the crowds and unwind? Then we may have just what you're looking for! Relax and enjoy our bright, modern apartment in the tranquil seaside village of El Cotillo which is the perfect base for the more discerning traveller looking to get away from the tourist masses and wanting a taste of real Fuerteventuran life.
Just a stone's throw away from the beautiful white sugar-sanded lagoon beaches, reputed to be some of the best in Europe, the village is a haven for the beach-lover and a mecca for the water sports enthusiast and our lovely apartment is equidistant from the sandy coves in the north and the surf beach in the south so you have the best of both worlds. The clear turquoise waters of the many lagoon beaches are protected from the Atlantic by a volcanic reef formation which keeps the water calm and makes them ideal for swimming and snorkeling or just paddling in the rock pools which are left teeming with little fish when the tide goes out..The more remote beaches up towards the lighthouse are naturist friendly and generally very peaceful so you can usually find yourself a quiet spot to relax and do your own thing. Just right for a 'chilled out' holiday & perfecting that all-over tan
Our sunny first floor apartment comprises of an attractive lounge with dining area, separate fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms (1 twin bed and 1 double) bathroom (with shower, vanity basin, WC & bidet) and a furnished sun terrace... It is located close to the centre of the village and a short walk from the quaint old harbour, some excellent restaurants and the stunning lagoon beaches. There is a supermarket and a coffee shop/patisserie nearby. There is also a phone & internet shop and public tennis court within easy reach and there is off street parking.
The sheltered south facing patio is bathed in bright sunshine form early morning to late afternoon which makes it ideal for alfresco dining and keeps the apartment warm & cosy during the cooler winter months. In contrast, the bedrooms face north and benefit from the cooling sea breezes blowing over from the lagoon beaches ensuring good ventilation and a comfortable night's sleep during the hottest weather. The patio has been planted with indigenous plants, which can be illuminated at night, and has attractive furniture & a large umbrella making it perfect for breakfast, a long lunch or an evening tipple.
The owner is a chef and has equipped the kitchen with everything you could think of in the way of utensils and cooking paraphernalia to ensure that you have everything you need for a relaxed self catering holiday - every meal could be a banquet!

For your peace of mind, the friendly and accommodating British management team who look after our apartment are based locally and are available most days and evenings.

Easyjet offer inexpensive direct flights to Fuerteventura from Bristol Gatwick & Liverpool with connections to other UK airports. Norwegian and British Airways fly from Gatwick . Jet2 from Manchester & Stansted.Ryanair from Stansted & Liverpool.
Other charter airlines offer flights all year round as this island has 3000 + hours of sunshine & good weather whatever time of year you visit.

Location description
El Cotillo is on the north west coast of the island just 40 mins drive from the airport. Fuerteventura is the most laid back of the Canary islands and is just 100km from the coast of Morocco and basks in 3000 plus hours of sunshine each year. Largely undeveloped it has a year round warm temperature which rarely drops below 20C even in winter making it an ideal destination whatever time of year you visit. Fuerteventura is all about peace and tranquility and its charm lies in its rugged volcanic landscape, its tiny white washed villages and its Caribbean-like beaches. Car hire is recommended but not essential - there is a good bus service to the main resort of Corralejo which is about half an hours drive away,

Jus' Perfick'!
We can only repeat what has been said in the previous reviews - we had an amazing and wonderful time whilst staying at this property. It's perfectly fitted out and equipped for all you could ever want, spacious too, even parking is easy! We ate in having fish and meat, everything we needed for the kitchen is there; we ate out, the apartment is ideally located to lazily walk into Cotillo and some authentic restaurant's. From here it's also only a 10 minute trip to Lajares and 20 minute trip to Coralejo. On the patio here we ate breakfast in the sun and then, after a really hard day (!) at the local fab lagoon beaches we would have drinks still in the sun, after dinner we sat there watching the stars. Management providing cleaning, towels, linen etc. was all excellent. Cotillo (including our time at this apartment) just "grabs" you! Liz and Graham couldn't have been more helpful with their local knowledge which is invaluable. We'll be back!
Sun Sea and Relaxation
This apartment is probably the best equipped and home from home apartment we have stayed in for a holiday.The nearby lagoons are magical, you could be on your own desert island.The local restaurants are good..only ten minutes walk away.Although after a hectic day on the beach a swim and a glass of wine on the lovely patio...Supper in seemed ideal.

Sunshine and Style in El Cotillo
This apartment is stylishly decorated and well appointed, and is a perfect home-from-home for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Three different types of beach to suit your mood (the surfers' beach is spectacular!) and there is a reasonable choice of pleasant restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk of the apartment. If you prefer to self-cater there is a good supermarket just across the road and the apartment's kitchen is very well equipped. The patio is a nice place to relax, we had breakfast there each morning and usually an evening drink, enjoying the lingering warmth and the stars we see so seldom in the UK.
Liz, the owner, is a mine of information and was tremendously helpful. We holidayed here in November 2010 and had a great time.
