    A superb spacious ground floor apartment in an historic mill building. Situated in a wonderful setting in the heart of the Peak District, this quality self-catering holiday apartment offers very well equipped and stylish accommodation, including an enormous master-suite with super-king sized bed, en-suite corner bath and 47″ television. The other two bedrooms each benefit from their own en-suite. Most rooms in the apartment enjoy views over the river, water wheel pit, or waterfall. The open plan living area of this Peak District self-catering holiday accommodation is perfect for groups, with the kitchen area kept separate by a stylish glass partition, with sitting area simply made for relaxing after a day exploring the area. Boasting 52" TV, DVD Player, HiFi and free WiFi.

    A travel cot (own bedding required) and high-chair are available at the property.     Location description

    Based in the centre of this relaxing and engaging community, our luxury Peak District apartment at Litton Mill is kitted out with every comfort and you need to make it a home away from home during your stay in the Peak District. The mill itself was founded as far back as 1782 by a pair of prominent local entrepreneurs, Ellis Needham and Thomas Firth, and is steeped with the industrial history that is typical of the time. Despite being nearly destroyed by fire in 1874, the building was renovated and enlarged to its present state, and was converted in 2003 to luxury apartments.

    We believe that our apartment is one of the premier holiday cottages in the Peak District. Furnished to a high standard, with en-suite facilities in each of the three bedrooms and a large, open plan living/dining area/kitchen, 6 Litton Mill is the perfect base from which to explore the Peak District’s many hidden treasures.

    Visitors to the area can gain easy access to the renowned Monsal Trail, a 19th century train line that has since been converted into an 8.5 mile route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders that takes in the best of the Peak District’s iconic landscapes. More recently, a Ł2.5 million renovation has seen the Monsal Tunnels open to the public, and people of all ages can immerse themselves in the history and heritage of the area when they walk through the well-lit tunnels and passages.

    Guests should not miss a visit to the nearby town of Tideswell, with its fine country inns and vibrant high street, which includes butchers, bakers, chemists, Fish & Chip shops and much more. One of the key attractions of the town is the “Cathedral of the Peak”, dedicated to St John the Baptist and completed way back in 1400.

    Too many to mention - the mill itself is situated on the famous Monsal Trail, and old now unused railway line which is now a favourite 'trail' for walkers and cyclists

    Directions

    The attractive village of Litton Mill is located on the River Wye just a few miles from the heard of the Peak District. We are situated at the end of a road which runs adjacent to the River Wye. This road is accessed from the junction in lower Miller’s Dale, by the “Angler’s Rest” pub.

    Only really accessible by car...

    From Buxton – take the A6 (Bakewell Road) out of Buxton and then take a left down the B6049 towards Miller’s Dale.

    From Sheffield – take the A625 (Eccleshall Road) to Calver before joining the A623. Shortly after passing the “Three Stags Head” inn, take a left down Mires Lane towards Litton. Drive through Litton and towards the B6049, which will take you down to Lower Miller’s Dale.

    From Manchester – take the A6 (Buxton Road) for approximately 20 miles until reaching the roundabout and take the 1st exit onto the A623 heading to Chesterfield/A619 Sheffield/A621. In Sparrow Pit turn right to stay on the A623. Leave the A623 by turning right towards Tideswell, continuing on the B6049 towards Miller’s Dale.

    From Derby – take the A6 heading towards Bakewell and continue along the A6. As you begin to approach Buxton, you will need to take a right turn down the B6049, which will take you towards Miller’s Dale.

    For a party of four walkers this was a perfect location. The apartment is spacious and stylishly appointed. It is well equipped to make for a comfortable stay.
    Communication before our stay was excellent and provided all the information we needed.

    There were two couples and a single adult in our party so this wonderful apartment was ideal for us and we loved all the space. The kitchen was well equipped and once we had opened up the table we pushed it along towards the window leaving five places and left it there all week.The bedrooms were big and airy, especially the master bedroom, and the smallest was fine for a single adult though could do with some more hooks for hanging clothes as there was no room for a wardrobe. The whole building was very peaceful and the views of the river added to our enjoyment. We liked Tideswell, the nearest large village , where we were able to buy anything we needed and were pleased to revisit Calver where we used to enjoy caravan holidays and also Bakewell which we are very fond of. Altogether a great holiday in a fantastic apartment.

    This is our 4th return visit to 6 Litton Mill and the quality of the spacious and well appointed accommodation never disappoints. The mill is set in a wonderful location and we managed to do 3 different circular dale walks direct from the mill. I am sure we will return once again for another wonderful break.

    Wonderful location, very comfortable accommodation for the four of us. Views from the lounge and kitchen mesmerised us. Splendid walks and great opportunities for photography. Would love to return.

    We were a party of four adults who had a wonderful, care free long weekend in the apartment. The apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated with all the mod cons. The central living space is fantastic with masses of space to spread out and beautiful views of the running water. There are large airy windows all round with high ceiling. The master bedroom and twin rooms are spacious and the other double room is somewhat smaller but is fine. The location of the Litton Mill is great, with a great walks right next to it. Close by (approx. 20 min walk) is the Anglers Rest pub which served great home made food, including several vegetarian options.
    Our communications with Tricia were clear and timely and in summary we have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and would stay here again.

    We have had a fabulous stay here. The apartment is in a beautiful setting with lots of attractions near by. 4 adults and 2 children had plenty of space and everything we needed. Can't recommend enough. We will definitely visit again!

    Stayed over Christmas 2016 with family (6 adults). Perfect! Well appointed accommodation, lovely location. Nice layout for a family - the open plan keeps everyone together whilst chef cooked Christmas dinner!
