Location description
Charming Bophut is really two places:
Bophut beach, which sweeps down several kilometres between Big Buddha and Maenam beaches and perhaps one of the sophisticated places on the island; the charming Fisherman's Village, which takes up the middle section of the beach.
Fisherman's Village is fast gaining a reputation that stretches way beyond Samui for being the most elegant and well-preserved place on the island. Lined by old wooden Chinese shop-houses, interspaced with a few modern buildings that match the tone, it retains a distinctly Mediterranean feel.
Mixed in among the shops are several boutiques, selling high quality clothing and jewellery. There are also some dive shops in the area, offering scuba lessons or day dives to sites in the famous Ang Thong Marine Park, Sail Rock or Koh Tao Island.

Koh Samui is located in the Gulf of Thailand, about 35 km northeast of Surat Thani town. The island measures some 21 kilometres at its narrowest point, and 25 km at its longest. It is surrounded by about sixty other islands, which compose the Ang Thong Marine National Park (Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park) and include other tourist destinations.
The climate of Koh Samui has essentially two seasons; warm and tropical most of the year, with a short rainy season. Unlike Phuket and most of the rest of Southern Thailand which has a 6-month rainy season between May and November, Samui's weather is relatively dry for the vast majority of the year, with the rainy season being primarily confined to November. For the rest of the year, since the weather is tropical, when it does rain, it usually doesn’t last long; rain showers of 20–60 minutes are typical.
Other activities
Daytrips to the other island like Koh phangan with the famous full moon partys, Koh Tao which is famous for diving or the spectacular Ang Thong Marine Park with its unspoilt beaches and fantastic nature.
Local events
Several local events all around the year.
Tourist attractions
Several beaches to discover, Buddhistic temples, mountain trecks, diving, nightlife, international restaurants, high quality spas
Directions
Best way to get to Samui is by flight from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or Hongkong by Bangkok Airways or Thai Airways.
Cheaper flights are to Surat Thani airport from Bangkok with Air Asia.
Then you take the ferry to the Koh Samui Island.
