Comprising of large lounge with log fire & dining area. 2 well-appointed bedrooms, 2 well-equipped bathrooms, modern fully fitted kitchen & roomy furnished balcony. All principal rooms are air-conditioned.
Situated in the characterful, old village of Alvor & near to the beach, a myriad of wonderful restaurants & friendly bars. Just a 45 minute drive from Faro Airport.
We've welcomed guests for over 20 years, and are proud to say, that many are returners. We are fully licensed with the local authority, No. AL 6684.
The Club itself, boasts 18 acres of fabulous, fragrant, sub-topical gardens, and features an excellent outdoor, freeform swimming pool, a heated indoor pool, sauna, floodlit tennis courts, kids' play area, gymnasium & shuffleboard.
A short stroll will take you to the clean, blue-flag beach.
For golfers, this is the centre of Golf Heaven, amongst many others, the Alto course, designed by Sir. Henry Cotton, (also famous for his Penina course nearby), is a challenging round, in delightful countryside, with very friendly club house & restaurant.
The Alto's on-site restaurant, Cotton's offers a sophisticated, cosmopolitan menu, great atmosphere, happy-hours & sometimes live music. Also on site is the Douro Bar, excellent for casual, al-fresco lunches, and an ice-cream bar for the youngsters.

Location description
Just on the outskirts of Alvor Village, the complex is in a wonderful location, making it near all the amenities of the village, yet also close to the beach. It is a quieter location than the bustling nearby town of Portimao, which also offers many attractions & excellent shopping. There is a taxi rank in the village, or you could take the bus from opposite the entrance gates. Everything is so accessible.
Other activities
The waterparks are very popular, as are the zoos. There are "Pirate Ship" sailings from the beach, Jeep safaris and historical tours available. The Monchique Mountains offer a breath of fresh air on the really hot days, and where in season, you can pick tree strawberries & mimosa.
Local events
Plenty of festivals and events, the reception staff, will happily give you information & brochures. There is an Anglican church service in the town of Lagoa. Do collect a copy of The Portugal News free at the airport & some supermarkets, for details of available TV programmes, local news & current events.
Tourist attractions
Wonderful historical architecture, traditional markets & flea markets. Many tours available with local departure. For those who like to quaff, a visit or two, to a local winery is a must.
Directions
From Faro Airport, there are two possible routes. You can take the A22 toll road which takes about 45 minutes (if you hire a car & collect it from the airport, they will issue you with a transponder and you will pay the car hire company for the tariffs you receive). Or you can also take the toll-free N125 which takes a little longer but is a more interesting route. Both of these roads have destination Portimao, then take side roads to well sign-posted Alvor. The Alto Club is situated on the edge of the village, opposite the Pestana Alvor Park Hotel. From the vehicular entrance, our apartment is the first block on the right, Reception is almost opposite, and our front door is around the corner, with a sign "Tidings" 40C. We are happy to recommend & even book your car hire for you.

There is just a short stroll to the clean blue-flag beach, with clean, soft sand & interesting rock formations, including a private area free to our guests with sunbeds & shades. Nearby, visit the Monchique Mountains, delightful on a hot day, there are wineries to try, Jeep safaris, folk-lore events, exciting water parks, riding & even parachuting, or of course you could just sit around the pool or pass the time in the company of your new-found friends in a convivial bar. |
Access: | Car not essential, Off road parking, Garage, Private car park, Stairs The apartment is situated on the first (top) floor, so takes advantage of the great views across to the Bay of Lagos. It is extremely private, with the interior not being readily visible from any other properties. Off road parking is to the front of the property, and the garage is situated under the block. All windows fitted with fly screens, and all principal rooms with blackout curtains. Dustbins situated in the basement with daily waste removal. Some sports equipment, golf clubs, tennis racquets & plenty of childrens' toys free to use. |

Linen provided, Towels provided, Laundry included Stays over 3 days, will have a mid week towel change, stays of over 7 days will have a full linen change. Extra laundry may be arranged, but the apartment comes equipped with a washer/dryer, and there is a portable airer and fixed line on the balcony, washing takes very little time to dry in the sunshine. We ask you not to dry any items indoors, as the damp will penetrate the furnishings. |
Meals: | Most meals available at the on-site restaurant, Cotton's or The Douro Bar, and there is a plethora of friendly cafes, snack bars, & great restaurants to suit all tastes & budgets, all within an easy walk. However, it is wonderful to just sit on the balcony in the sunshine, and enjoy a glass of local wine or something prepared in the apartment. |

Deposit/Booking Notes
The small print.
Bookings are generally made for Saturday to Saturday, but we can often be flexible over this, to allow our guests to avail themselves of cheaper flights. Realistically, we cannot offer stays of less than 3 days, and these stays may attract a small surcharge. A 20% deposit is required to secure the booking. This is not normally refundable, except where we can re-book the same period, then it may be subject to a discount. Balance due at 8 weeks before departure.
All payments will be acknowledged. We regret that we do not have credit card facilities. Occasionally we can offer a discounted rate, particularly for returning guests, cancellation fillers, early bird bookings and last minute bookings. Our tariff is for the whole apartment, i.e. sleeps 4, and extra beds & cots may be hired for you, as required.
