The beautiful horse drawn gipsy caravans pass Sandbed Cottages door in the weeks leading up to the world famous horse fair. They are a spectacular sight to behold, with their brightly painted caravans and heavy horses bedecked in well polished leather harnesses right in front of your holiday cottage door. This ancient horse fair has been held in Appleby for centuries and is well worth a days visit, it is only a short drive from Sandbed Cottage.
