Jousting tournaments, that take place on 2 days every August.
The first Pallio della Pacca involves a challenge between 4 horsemen who represent each of the gateways to San Ginesio Porta Picena (red), Porta Ascarana (yellow) Porta Alvaneto (blue) and Porta Offuna (green). The residents of San Ginesio parade in costume before following the drummers and standard bearers to the field next to Porta Picena. There are several competitions that are time trials and accuracy based. The winning and losing teams celebrate with a feast in the piazza.
The second competition usually follows two days later and is based along the same lines. Its just a great opportunity to show off the medieval costumes, the drummers, flag throwers and of course enjoy the local fayre.
