Fete de Bayonne, Bardos, France
25th - 29th July
The Fete de Bayonne is an annual event that attracts about 300 000 visitors over 5 days. Everybody is dressed in white and red and the atmosphere is very friendly. During the day you will see families with children and at night the party continues until about 3 or 4am. There are buses that will take party goers from the surrounding towns and villages to and from Bayonne during the fete.
The festivals start on the first Wednesday of August. In 2004, these festivals drew 1.3 to 1.5 million visitors. They are the largest festivals in France. In the 80's, participants started to dress in white with a red scarf and a red belt after the colours of the city of Pamplona. Some rare purists prefer to wear blue and white, colours of the city of Bayonne
