'Circuit International des Remparts d'Angouleme', Angouleme, France

A truly great spectacular event, the 'Circuit des Remparts' Classic Racing Car Race, which started in 1939, takes place in the third week of September each year. Fabulous, classic racing cars such as Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, Mercedes & Jaguar, from all over the world, take part. One of the worlds greatest racing drivers, Fangio raced here. The circuit is laid out along the normal public roads (closed for the event) lining the city walls around Angouleme and covers nearly a mile. Over 150 classic racing cars take part in several heats over the two day event.
