The entrance to Villa Plantat is an elegant and enormous lawn, also designed in 1830. Inside you will find a winter garden, a library, high ceilings, seven bedrooms, elegant furniture, balconies and terraces.

You are invited to Villa Plantat, our privately owned estate and vineyard at the foothills of the Cevennes. Arrive to the smell of lavender at our magnificent and unique 1830 Mas, designed on 400 acres with an elegant lawn, terraces and gardens full of majestic trees. Our own completely private, 1400 square foot swimming lake is fed by four natural sources and maintains an agreeable temperature.

The Villa comfortably houses 13 guests. Inside you will find a winter garden, a library, two grand living rooms, seven bedrooms, high ceilings, elegant furniture, balconies and terraces.

Plantat is a fully equipped home, ready to welcome. Children are welcome, as are long-term renters. It is a low allergen environment. Available on site are a Provencal chef, masseuse, babysitter, maid and more. We look forward to welcoming you.

Plantat is within close proximity to the metropolitan cities of Montpellier and Nîmes, sites of the best-preserved Roman ruins, world-renowned prehistoric caves and bamboo gardens. (Check out the recent New York Times article "Roman France" (pub. May 17, 2009) which raves about our local history and beauty!) In the surrounding villages, such as Avignon and Arles, you will find exciting summer festivals, music, shopping and restaurants. Even amidst the tranquility of Villa Plantat, you’ll have easy access to golf, tennis, swimming, biking, cycling, fishing, painting, photography, spelunking and viticulture as well as fabulous mountain hiking and canoeing in the forests of the Cevennes. Villa Plant is only 40km to the beach. And, of course, you'll find wine tasting everywhere!

Plantat is only 1.8km to the center of Quissac, our lovely village where Robert Louis Stevenson finished his book “Travels with a Donkey.” There you’ll find true French culture, charming shops and restaurants. Located at the foothills of the Cevennes Mountain, perfect for hiking and biking, close to the Mediterranean Sea, and near Pont de Gard, the most spectacular Roman aqueduct in the world. The topography is rolling fields, vineyards, sunflowers and lush greenery.
