Description of holiday villa in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

With a private pool, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 living rooms our villa offers the flexibilty to people needing more than an all inclusive or package type holiday.

Just one look a the view is all you need to make you want to spend your holiday at our villa. We have the only 5 bedroom villa on the increasingly desirabe Playa Vista development.

Ours not one of the large complexes that adorn other parts of Playa Blanca but a small gated development that has a serenity and character all of its own.

A glance at the varying backgrounds of our previous guests shows that it is appealing to people from all walks of life (lawyers, doctors, recruitment executives, builders, roofers and retired couples). These guests were all looking for a break with a little something extra, and they came from all over europe - Holland, Scotland, Ireland, England.

In our relatively short time letting the villa to holiday makers it has become clear that people want choice and to satisfy the need to spend valuable time with their families within thier own family unit.

You simply cannot achieve this at a hotel where you are told what and when to eat, you feel the need to 'get out' of the small hotel room and adhere to a socially acceptable dress code. Its a fact of life that even at the best hotels the staff can be unhelpful and you are not allowed in the swimming pool after certain times - surely that doesn't make for a good holday.

When you stay at a villa like ours you can relax, wear a favourite pair of old baggy shorts, go topless on the secluded sun terrace, eat a bacon sandwich at 11pm and not have to fight to get a poolside lounger.

It has to be recognised that parents often want something to keep their kids amused. To this end we have SKY TV, PLAYSTATION2, IPOD DOCKING STATION, DVD'S BOOKS ETC, although past experience tells us that the pool is the centre of attention.

Location description

Playa Blanca
The newest resort of Lanzarote is Playa Blanca. Situated on the Southern tip of the island this resort exploded in the last decade and is just starting to catch up with the infrastructure now. The planning for this end of the island is different to the other tourist areas, thousands of private villas were built on plots with private pools as opposed to apartments and even the complexes are bungalows. Tipped to become the premier destination of Lanzarote this resort has an up market and exclusive feel.

The resort is stretched along miles of coast from the beautiful beaches at Papagayo to the lighthouse El Faro. The town centre and old harbour are located in the centre of the resort, from here to the lighthouse are the larger style villas on plots, from the centre to the Marina Rubicón the property is smaller and closer together with duplex style town houses.

There are two fabulous beaches Playa Dorada and Playa Flamingo within the resort but no trip to Playa Blanca is complete without a day spent exploring the several beaches at Papagayo. The resort is that spread out there is a circular bus service every 30 minutes making it easy to get around if you’re not planning on driving.
If you do decide to get out in a car, the volcanic region of Timanfaya and El Golfo are just along the coast and a short drive away. Walkers like to explore Montaña Roja with views over the Bocaina Straits to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura, as well as the Natural Parque of Los Ajaches.

Marina Rubicón draws the tourists, this up market marina offers a fantastic location for sampling the local food and drink as well as designer shopping outlets and the weekly market.
Playa Blanca is slightly remote from the rest of the island, rumoured to have a warmer climate and currently being groomed for a five star resort.

Directions

From the Airport you drive south along the main highway towards Playa Blanca , Yaiza {it is a straight road all the way} this will take c.30 minutes.

When you get to the main roundabout in Playa Blanca you take the exit {right} before the petrol garage , this exit has lots of signs for Hotels etc. .Drive for approx 5mins going straight over 4 roundabouts and finally passing the Hotel Rubicon on your left at the fifth r/about – keep going straight.
At the next roundabout you follow the signs for the Hotel Calimera {the 3rd exit } 100 yards down at the next r/about take the 3rd exit again and then straight over the next {the signpost here says Kamezi on the right}.

You then drive past the Hotel Calimera and you will see a thatch beach hut to your right {this is the Calimeras poolbar , opposite this is Playa Vista , it is the small development on your left.
You enter Playa Vista and turn left then 25 yards to the right is Villa Gulshan , you can park right next to the pool.
