Description of holiday villa in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

Villa Cassia is a 3 bedroom villa with it's own private pool and is situated in a residential area of Playa Blanca but is only a short walk to the beautiful Playa Flamingo beach and the coastal promenade. There are plenty of shops and restaurants there or you can walk along the promenade into Playa Blanca town centre to find even more!

Our villa was designed by an internationally renowned architect in 2005. The whole property is designed in a curved theme including the swimming pool and terrace. The villa is painted white inside and out which gives it a lovely cool feel especially in the high temperatures of the summer months! All of the windows and doors have shutters with mosquito netting incorporated into them - these can be locked at night with the windows and doors kept open allowing a through draft of fresh air which is so much healthier than air conditioning. It is design features such as these which make Villa Cassia a more pleasant and comfortable place in which to stay.

3 fully tiled luxury bathrooms, each equipped with full size baths, bidet, toilet and 2 out of the three have separate shower cubicles. Beautifully soft Egyptian cotton towels are provided for your use. Each bedroom has plenty of storage including large walk-in cupboards, wardrobes and shelving. The 2 master bedrooms which lead onto the terracing have kingsize beds with 400 threadcount Pima cotton hotel bedding and designer cushions and throws. The third bedroom contains 2 single beds and is further away from the living area and terrace making it safer and ideal for children.

All bedrooms have ceiling fans for comfort during summer months. Each window and French door benefits from shutters which have mosquito netting incorporated. There is an Ipod docking station with speakers and remote control for your use. There are plenty of books, dvds and games and also a box of toys for younger children.

The swimming pool is beautifully shaped with Roman steps at the shallow end which is perfect for children or non-swimmers. There is an outdoor pool shower. The built-in barbecue and table and chairs on the covered terrace is ideal for 'al fresco' dining. The property has it's own private parking space in a driveway and also has additional parking outside. A variety of colourful flowers, cacti and trees surround the villa and terraces making it a perfect setting for sunbathing, swimming and dining with family and friends.

The terraces are south facing and enjoy sun all day long. The high walls and foliage provide excellent privacy without being cut off from all the desired amenities nearby.

We have an agreement with the hotel across the way for our villa guests to have the opportunity to use their gym, tennis courts and crazy golf for a small charge. They will provide equipment as well.

Location description

Villa Cassia is within easy walking distance of most of Playa Blanca. The nearest beach is the beautiful secluded golden sand Playa Flamingo beach. It is ideal for families as the sea is more like a gently shelving turquoise lagoon. There are little rrock pools perfect for children and their fishing nets! There is a variety of cuisine on offer in the local restaurants and supermarkets nearby for your convenience.

Other activities

Camel rides over the volcanoes at Timanfaya National Park ending up at the hill-top restaurant for lunch cooked over burning lava!

Local events

Local market held twice weekly at the designer Marina Rubicon. Every Wednesday and Saturday morning 9.00a.m. till 1.00p.m.

Tourist attractions

Marina Rubicon with it's designer boutiques and upmarket bars and restaurants. Take a water taxi to the famous Papagayo beaches. Try a day trip to Fuerteventura by ferry from Playa Blanca harbour. Visit some of the many Cezar Manrique exhibits all over the island. "The cactus gardens", Cezar's own home built around underground tunnels in the lava, Mirador Rio in the North.

Directions

The villa is easily reached from Arrecife airport by taxi or hired car.
A taxi costs between 35-40 euros. The journey takes approx. 30 minutes. Car hire can be booked in advance or on arrival. I can recommend companies to use on confirmation of booking and will provide a clear map and instructions for your use. It is very straightforward as the roads on the island are really good.
