Villa Parco Otto Sentieri is situated in 5 acres of olive and almond groves in the tranquil hills of Ostuni, 25 minutes drive from the Adriatic sea.
Italians have long made Puglia a favoured holiday destination and now with more flights from the U.K. it is rapidly becoming a hot destination for gourmet travellers.
The villa was restored in 2007 in keeping with the local architecture
and is set in its own plot of land, 1 hectare, with Olive, Fig, Almond and Fruit Trees.
The new swimming pool is 10m x 5m surrounded by a mediterranean style garden.
We have a roof terrace with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and towns: Ostuni, Ceglie and Cisternino.

Deposit/Booking Notes: We will require 30% non-refundable deposit payable on booking. The balance to be paid in full by bank transfer 8 weeks prior to booking period. Please note rental rates are up to four people sharing, four to six people add £50 per extra person per week.

Two gas bottles are provided for heating and cooking which should be ample for a two week stay. Additional bottles are €20 each.
Electricity up to a value of €50 is included.
A cash deposit of €200 will be required on arrival. This will be refunded on day of departure, assuming no damage or breakages.

Up to 7 weeks before arrival lose deposit and 50% thereafter, no refunds.

Location description

We are ideally situated in the cool hills between the beaches of the Adriatic and the historic sites of the Itrea Valley, including the UNESCO World heritage site of Alberobello.

The area is renowned for its local wines from Locorotundo as well as its gastronomic restaurants, many of them family run. Long sandy beaches in Torre Canne and Torre Guaceto are punctuated by secluded rocky inlets and isolated coves, where beach side restaurants and bars offer delicious seafood snacks. The early evening passaggiata typifies the social and cultural spectacle on view throughout the region. There are many open air theatres in historic town squares.

Parco Otto Sentieri is ideally situated to profit from the sun, the sea, the rolling hils, and the markets and restaurants offering fresh local produce. It is a short drive from the airports of Brindisi and Bari and also the hypermarkets in Messagne and Fasano. Daily shopping is done in our local village which also boasts 3 excellent places to eat.

Events in and around Ostuni summer 2009

Putignano carnival - 11th July
One of the oldest carnivals in the world, possibly dating back to 1394, this is the summer stretch of the carnivals circuit. The carnival is well-known for its parade of colourful papier-mache floats, these days often carrying political and social messages.

Sagra degli altri tempi - 15th August
The historic centre is the scene for a display of old traditions, costumes and food preparation by the people of the old town. You can taste various types of traditional dishes and see the local artisans at work.

La Cavalcata - 26th August
La Cavalcata is a horse parade that follows the procession of Saint Oronzo, the protector of the city on the 26th of August. A silver statue of the saint is carried in memory of the knights who protected the pilgrims on the way to the sanctuary from the attacks of bandits. Horses and riders have mantillas and costumes in gold or silver embroidery.

La processione della Grata - 2nd Sunday of August
On the second Sunday of August, this procession leaves the Sanctuary della Grata to go to the centre of the city and, in the evening, the candles of the six thousand people who usually take part, light up the countryside. It is a striking scene you can watch from the top of the city.

ZooSafari in Fasano:
A great experience for all the family in the largest zoological park in Italy - approx 30 minutes from Cisternino.

Torre Canne Beach
A wonderful long sandy beach gently sloping into the sea. You can wade in for quite a distance before reaching deep water - Signposted and approximately 40 minutes from Ostuni.

Castellana Grotte Caves

Tourist attractions

Ostuni
One of the most stunning small towns of southern Italy. Situated on three hills at the southernmost edge of Le Murge, and an important Greco-Roman city in the first century AD, its old centre spreads across the highest of the hills, a gleaming white splash of sun-bleached streets and cobbled alleyways, dominating the plains below. The maze of well-preserved winding streets makes for a fascinating amble, the town buzzes on summer nights and there are some exceptional views.

Blue Flag beaches, superb restaurants, including one with a Michelin star, are the norm.

Beautiful Alberobello - 45 minutes' drive from Otto Sentieri.
These unusual, coned houses are a must see.
Alberobello is a UNESCO protected site.

Directions to Villa Otto Sentieri:
From Brindisi
Leave the airport and follow the signs for Bari. This will take you on to the SS379, a dual carriageway which follows the coast northwards. After about 20 minutes, you will see a sign for Ostuni. Do not worry if you miss it, there are 2 more exits further on. Follow directions for Ostuni and head towards the town centre. Look for a sign for Cisternino and follow that road out of town. About 5 minutes (3km) from town, you will see a large Hotel on your left, La Città Bianca. Continue towards Cisternino for a further 3km. You will see a sign for Contrada Badessa, keep going, then, after a couple of bends, you will see a broad lay-by on the left and a sign for Cda Barbagiani and La Luna Nel Pozzo. Turn left here onto a narrow lane. Follow this lane up and around the right-angled bend to the left (ignore the dirt track in front of you). After a few hundred metres, you will see 3 white-washed buildings on your right. After a further 25 metres, you will see a turning on your right. There are a couple of post boxes on the wall and for sale signs ‘Vende’. Follow this white shale road right to the cross roads at the top of the hill.
