Surrounding area must see
When you journey outside of Kusadasi a whole other world awaits you.

Efes (Ephesus)-once the commercial center of the ancient world will be one of the highlights of your visit to Turkey. The city was built in dedication to the Goddess Artemis. Her temple was once one of the Seven Wonders of the World but was later destroyed by Alexander the Great. Ephesus was also the home of the Greek natural philosopher Heraclitus. In his book On Nature he introduced a new self-conscious method and language. Ephesus was also home to one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. The Ephesus International Festival is held annually during the month of May.

House of Virgin Mary: It is recorded that St. John brought the Virgin Mary to Ephesus after the death of Christ. And she spent her last days in a small house (Meryemana Evi) built for her on Mt Nightingale. It is now a popular place of pilgrimage for Christians and Muslims. The house has received the official sanction by the Vatican, and Christians observe a commemoration ceremony every year on August 15th.
Pamukkale – ‘Cotton Castle’ is a shimmering white cascade of limestone formed by hot springs and is close to the biblical sites of Laodicea and Hierapolis.

Priene – Set on a hill amongst pines, it has spectacular views of the Meander Valley and a small, interesting theater, agora and Temple of Athena.

Miletus – Has fine ruins of a theater seating 24,000 people, a stadium and Roman baths.

Didyma – Has impressive ruins of the Temple of Apollo and a stone relief of the head of Medusa.
Further afield (about 2 hours north of Izmir) the spectacular ruins of Pergamum sit on a hill 1000 feet above the plain, with an ancient medical centre below.
For those wanting a more active nightlife, nearby Kusadasi is one of Turkeys principal holiday resort towns. It has attractive cafes and restaurants along palm-lined boulevards and lively bars and discos.

Situated south of Kusadasi at 30 km is the town of Guzelcamli. Guzelcamli is a small village on the west coast of Turkey. From the beach you can see the Greek island of Samos. The village has not yet been overrun by Western tourists and most of the holidaymakers people you will encounter are Turkish many of whom live here or have a holiday home in the area. The village of Guzelcamli itself is situated 1km north of the stunningly beautiful Milli National Park. National Park has three beaches within the park. The beaches: Aydinlik, Icmeler, Kavakli, and Karasu bays are the principles of the numerous secluded bays and coves. Clear waters provide an opportunity to dive. Only Icmeler Bay has the sandy beach. Quietness while you rest peacefully in the shades of pines. The Park boasts unusual bird life and offers interesting walks, cycle rides, fishing and swimming. In season, boat trips go from the small harbor to nearby National Park beaches. To the east are olive groves and mountains to the west, the sea. Although Guzelcamli may, at first sight, appear to be off the beaten track, the village is surprisingly accessible by public transport. Formerly the ancient city of Panion, Guzelcamli nestles next to the Dilek National Park where the Samsun Mountains slope into the Aegean Sea. Guzelcamli is close to some important historical sites including several Ionian cities, and The cave of Zeus. Located 30km SW of Kusadasi. Minibuses depart every 30 minutes to and from Kusadasi.
