Prepare to fall in love...
"There are no words to describe our stay at Villa Sungai Jungle House I), but I'll give it a try... From the moment we arrived at the villa, the staff made us feel so welcomed and we didn't want for nothing. The villa itself is pristine and a level of luxury I hadn't even thought imaginable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but the real delights are the outdoor, jungle feel en-suite bathrooms.
We had several excursions planned during our stay at the villa, but most days we refused to leave our infinity pool, and instead opted to have lunch and dinners as a family in the villa. The food available is sublime, and it was a real pleasure to try all the local fruits and staple dishes (we are all big foodies, so their food selection was a big plus for us!)
I cannot recommend this villa enough, and I haven't stopped talking about it to all my friends and family... I can't wait to go back again!"

Staying at Villa Sungai was one of the most beautiful and harmonious experiences in our Asia trip. Every detail of the villa, every interaction with the staff brings the feeling of comfort and abundance, care and peace.
The colonial design is perfectly blended with nature. River and trees, birds and stars were as much part of our experience as the most comfortable bed or open air bathtub. Sometimes you can be grateful not only for what is there but also for what is not there � at Villa Sungai nothing distracts you from enjoying your time and family: the colors are not too bright, the music is not too loud, the presence of the staff is not minimal yet they are ready to help you any second.
The dining experience deserves separate mention. We are used to dining out, exploring local restaurants and here was the first time in several years that we did not even think of going out because the food was so delicious and also very creative.
So overall Villa Sungai is the place that welcomes you in a such way that you easily forget your plans and just want to stay there forever!)

This is a very belated but heartfelt THANKYOU for our amazing visit to Villa Sungai. We absolutely loved it - so much so that the kids are constantly talking about and even today my daughter announced out of the blue how much she missed �our hotel in Bali�. Special thanks to made for looking after us so kindly. And for all the special touches at the villa that really elevate the villa to something magical. The decor, music, flowers, cocktails, food, massage room - all absolutely stunning. We really hope to be able to visit again one day in the future.

The most beautiful villa you can imagine exist. True heaven on earth.
My husband and I, we've traveled all over the world and stayed in some amazing places but Villa Sungai was one of the best and unforgettable places. Not only that the beauty and design of it are incredible but the impeccable service from the amazing staff wowed us every day. The food was delicious and we didn't have to leave the villa because we enjoyed being there so much. We had everything we need it. If you come to Bali, this is a must place to stay. I can't recommend it enough. We loved it.

Dear Pamela,

I just wanted to let you know how much we loved staying at Sungai Jungle Villas. We had a wonderful time and spent a lot of time pinching ourselves... we couldn't believe we were there. It was really amazing. Thank you for letting us spread and use the whole place. We used that last day to truly relax and enjoy the villas. We couldn't believe that we had arrived at such a culturally significant time and we soaked it up. We really felt that we experienced Bali in all the best ways from Sungai. Driving, cycling and walking gave us a great chance to see different sides to Bali and to get off the tourist track.

The villas were incredible and the staff were amazing. We enjoyed the food and drinks, in particular we fell in love with the ginger Margaritas. Your staff made us feel relaxed and helped with everything that we needed. We really felt pampered and loved the massages and facials... I could go on and on and so could all the girls. Will definitely leave you a review soon.

We all really hope to return in the near future.

Dear Pamela,

Huge apologies for delay in writing, I am a bit embarrassed it has taken me this long, however, in my defence I have been a little unwell since my return as well as incredibly busy.

Let me start by saying that the villa still has that lovely �wow� factor as you arrive and we can assure you that all guests felt that way, they all LOVED it.

Lucky for them, they were very impressed they had a single room although only one, Sherryl, had paid for single occupancy, we had some very happy guests. There was not one complaint nor negative feedback from any of the guests.

The result of our hard work was a smaller than desired number but the end result was brilliant, we could not have wished for a better fit of people, we were blessed that as soon as they arrived, we all seemed to get on so well. A miracle really, I have travelled with many groups over the years and it can be difficult, especially when the group is small (which was our fear) so you can imagine how delighted we were and how grateful that we now have new clients but more importantly new friends. With hindsight Ashley and I wonder how it would have worked with 12 of us, we believe it was a good way to start.

No doubt you have received feedback from Made and let me tell you that he never disappoints, what a gorgeous gentle person he is. He was his usual punctual, polite, charming self, always there when you needed him, in fact I wonder whether he has a crystal ball, seems that you are thinking about talking with him to arrange something and he turns up. Lovely!!!!

Hello Pamela

It was Steve and my first visit to the island, but Karen and Paul had visited years ago, while sailing their boat around the world. Oh, yes, they did! It just so happened that Paul got to celebrate his birthday on Bali then also... just not with the over-the-top suckling piggy, decorations, special gamelan players and dancing girls, surrounded by that many loving friends and staff like this time around. We so love it when a plan comes together! Both were thrilled to bits, along with us, and I cannot describe to you how deliriously happy I felt sitting at the table, looking at our group of friends sharing meals, drinks, stories and laughter.

On that note, please allow me to express our profound gratitude and admiration we all have for MADE. The man is very special and a true gem! We have grown very fond of him, his deep wisdom, fine sense of humor, and exceptional kindness, not to mention his almost magical powers of organization and administration - he is truly one in a billion. We count ourselves lucky and privileged to have met him and spend time with him with great conversations; we admire his drive and purpose and have a deep appreciation for how he handles the Villas staff, and the situations his guests entrust into his capable hands, let alone what he does for his village and the kids. We recognize greatness when we see it: four thumbs up from us two, and... well, you do the higher math for the rest of the group! :o)

Steve and I would love to continue to support his efforts in teaching the village kids English! Love to his wife Wayan, and their kid, who by the way, is quite the charmer, and seemingly in charge. The English teacher Putu has done an excellent job teaching the kids flawless enunciation - Kudos!

I will also send MADE a WhatsApp message; we promised to stay in touch. Turns out we have a lot of interests in common� I have a lot of questions� and he has the patience of a saint� Yay!

We took a lot of pictures, and there are some of the Villas, and the staff. We�ll be happy to mail a CD or a thumb-drive with the photos to MADE. We got to spend more time with some of the staff, and I need to tell you that we loved getting to know Made, Iluh, Putu, Kadeh, Putu Desak, Yuyun, Wayan, Nyoman and, oh, heck, the entire gang and cannot wait to see them again! They did great: we felt loved and pampered! Cannot ask for much more than that.

Thank you, Pamela, for creating the playground that allows us to enjoy this very special little spot in the world - they are few and far - and we are willing to travel to get there! You have done a magnificent job bringing this dream to life, God Bless you, and may it continue for a long, long time!

Dear Pamela,

It�s official: Steve and I got bitten by the �Bali Bug� - in the best possible way. We found everything we were looking for, and then some!

Proof of this �affliction" is that slipping into �Bali Island Time� has turned out to be a lot easier than coming out of it again: we hit the ground running in Bali with ease, but the 30-hour plane journey home has packed a wallop in terms of jet lag, and we�re slowly trying to determine which end is up (emphasis on �slow�!). Still find myself pining after Villa Sungai delicacies at random and weird hours of the day. :o)

We must tell you, that first and foremost, your staff at the Villas, does not deserve a 5-star rating; no, indeed, it does not do them justice. Your staff deserve a 6-star rating, topped with kudos, and a sound round of applause! With whipped cream and a cherry on top. Can�t think of a way to better express our profound gratitude and appreciation for the patience, grace, and kindness with which our requests and weird questions were stoically, and smilingly, met by your unflappable staff. We were, no doubt, a handful to handle and everyone, every last person up and down your list of personnel, was the loveliest, and most wonderful human being one would, and could, ever hope to meet. We love and miss everyone dearly. It was hard for us to leave, because we felt like we found a new family, and we really felt at home.

Our stay was not up to standard - no; it by far exceeded our wildest expectations: from the luscious tropical landscape, fabulous and spacious rooms, to the gorgeous amenities, the meticulous organization of events, the most delicious gourmet food, the healing jamu spa, and above all, outstanding attentive service, every last thing has us yearning for a speedy return. And we have not even touched upon the beauty of the island at large, her people, and the motherlode of history, architecture, and arts and crafts we both enjoy.

Perhaps you should warn your staff now, that �we will be back!!!� :o) Brace yourselves! We will stay in touch, for an entire variety of reasons.

In the meantime, a big thank you to you all, who made our stay so special and truly memorable. We heard from our group that they also enjoyed themselves as much as we did, and we all agree it was a great adventure, to be repeated at the earliest opportunity!
