Amelie is a Spa Town named after Queen Amelie of France who enjoyed the cures of the waters in the region. Now established as a spa town, it is popular with tourists to walk along the flowing river Tech and enjoy the ozone. The town has many restaurants, bars, casino, tourist office with buses and excursions, daily provisions market and weekly Catalan market. Easy access to cycle and walking paths. Boules courts along the river bank and places to picnic. Loads to do for all the family in the area, from horseriding, cycling, canyoning, sky diving, snorkeling, fishing.

By car, take the Autoroute A9 down across the Milau Bridge and to Le Boulou. Central for all main routes down thru France and across to Spain.All main airports service the region - with low budget airlines and major airlines. Ryanair and FlyBe fly to Perpignan and Girona with British Airways to Toulouse and Barcelonaand Easy Jet to Montpelier.
Take the Eurostar down to Perpginan.
Put the car on the train to Narbonne and drive the last 2 hours in comfort.
