Beach & Swimming safety
The local beach has been awarded the Blue Flag and is very safe. However, at times the off shore currents can be strong. Please note the colour of the sea flags on the beach before entering the water. RED indicates NO swimming, YELLOW for swimming allowed with caution and GREEN means you can enjoy your swim. Experienced swimmers may like to try the secluded private cove just 2 minutes walk away. The entrance is rocky and excellent for snorkelling.
Please do not use the yellow pool towels for the beach.

Boat Trips & Water Sports
The Water sports Centre on the beach offers windsurfing, sailing and canoe hire.You can find them next to Psaros Taverna.

Shops & Amenities
There are two mini markets in the village situated on the road to Gavalochori. On the same road, you will find a traditional bakery and a newsagent where a number of international newspapers are available on a daily basis. Another bakery offering a superb selection of cakes and pastries is located opposite the petrol station on the road to the larger resort of Kalives. Here you can find many more shops including a large supermarket (INKA), pharmacy, butchers (Kalamiotis next to the souvlaki shop), green grocers for fresh vegetables (Farma) as well as two Banks and a Post Office.
The ATM for cash is located at the far end of the bay.

Bowling
For your information there is a bowling centre in new section of the Almirida Beach Hotel is open from 2PM until late on Saturdays and Sundays.

Tennis
There are 2 red clay tennis courts available by prior booking with the Almyrida Bay Hotel.

Car, Motorbike/Scooter and Bicycle Hire
There are two car hire companies located in the centre of the village. Flisvos is located just around the corner opposite the newsagent and also offers scooters, motorbikes as well as bicycles for hire. You can find the office for Autoclub alongside the Almirida Beach Hotel (next to Dimitris taverna).
