La Voloniere is an enchanting Chateau in the Loir. Located at the center of Poncé-sur-Loir, small village of character and artisanal tradition, the castle was formerly a priory. Entirely restored by Claude Becquelin in the concern of comfort and pleasure of the visitors. You are received here as friends, with simplicity and authenticity, in apartments, studio, room of hosts. A great part of the castle is troglodytic and offers a splendid medieval space. A park of three hectares, well flowered, is the subject of constant care. The small water plan with its cascade and its small beach will make your delights in the summer heats.
You will choose an apartment, a studio or a room of host. Whatever your choice, you will be received as friends, in a confidential climate where all was thoroughly studied by artists for your greater comfort. Different atmosphères were recreated, in order to make your stay unforgettable.
All our rooms profit from a small bathroom, toilets and of a sound installation in order to enable you to compose a musical atmosphere with the liking of your imagination.
Our apartments are entirely equipped with a bathroom, toilets, full equipped kitchen, and for some of them of a chimney.
This magical castle can offer room up to twenty people, you will reside at the liking of your imagination, in the atmosphere of your choice:

Breakfast is served in the 12th Century chapel. Claude gives you a warm welcome and provides information such as the best restaurants and local history. The village has arts and crafts and is set in a beautiful wine tasting area. Bicycles available for use. Ask us for information and prices for your seminars or meetings, by Ryan Air/Stansted to Tours, very cheap! *The castle is still available for Christmas and New Year!

Location description
The Loir Valley is a region rich with history : it is the original land from PLANTAGENET kings who wrote the famous legend of King Arthur ! There are many chateaux and historical towns with roman churches and ruins, beautiful forests, lakes for water sports and the Loir river for fishing. It is a wine producing area and the local wines may be tasted at the many 'degustations'. The local cuisine is excellent and there are many local restaurants to choose from. You will find ancient Troglodyte dwellings in the village of Troo (Richard Lion Heart). The village of PONCE/LOIR has much to offer as well. Directions
The distance to Charles de Gaulle airport, Paris is approximately 3 hours drive. It's less then 1.30 hour by TGV. Car hire is essential as it is the only way to explore the region. Ryan Air is flying to Tours from London Stansted. This will be very convenient for our guests as it is only 45 mins drive to the Chateau from Tours. Car hire is also available at Tours airport.
