Description
A vintage style home on the edge of the Wolds Way
The Officers Mess is a retro self catering holiday cottage which can accommodate up to five, situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds between Beverley and York in the village of Newbald.
The cottage is perfect for both holiday makers and those working in the area, there are two pubs in walking distance and lots to see and do. For cyclist and walkers it is a particular haven.
The Officers' Mess is an usual building constructed from corragated iron. It has been renovated and furnished with a mixture of 1920-1940's pieces in a vintage style. The original woodpanel is seen in many of the rooms and modern "luxuries" have been included such as electricity, hot water and an indoor bathroom, not to mention flatscreen TV, DVD player, microwave etc.
The newly-renovated accommodation comprises of 3 bedrooms (2 double beds and 1 single bed), a bathroom with a bath and over bath shower and a kitchen dining room.
The kitchen is equipped with electric oven, microwave, fridge, and there is a washing machine in the Utility Room.
The Officers Mess is set with a garden to all 4 sides, chairs and tables are outside and a small fruit garden, when in season you can pick your own rhubarb, herbs and strawberries.
