Description of holiday house near St-Lager-Bressac, Rhone-Alpes

In the south of green and hilly Ardèche, on the outskirts of a hamlet surrounded by nature, between the forested lands of the Barès Estate and the volcanic plateau of Coiron, the house is 17 km from the flowery city of Montélimar, the capital of nougat, and 15 km from Privas, known for its glazed chestnuts and its historical and religious heritage.

It is a 250-square meter independent house on private grounds of 1 Ha, with a landscaped lawn, terrace, vine harbour, brick barbecue and large private pool with a panoramic view. The five rooms can house 11 people all year long. You can spend comfortable winters around its chimney and stove, while summer can be enjoyed to its fullest by the pool and on the terrace, which has a full southern exposure.
The inside is spacious, well lit and comfortable, the interior decoration is an original and easy mix of contemporary and country styles.

A house full of character, with a high-quality environment and interior decoration, chimney and wood stove. Two shower rooms, one master bathroom and two separate restrooms; private garden, garden lounge, built-in barbecue, private pool with electric safety curtain.

Refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave oven, blender, multi-function food processor, Nespresso coffee machine (capsules not provided) and electric coffee maker, toaster, housecleaning utensils and basic cleaning products, dryer, ironing table and iron; television, VCR, DVD player; sheets supplied and beds made upon arrival. Upon request, for an additional set fee: housecleaning services during the stay and final housecleaning at departure.

Infant care: infant bed, high chair, change mattress and stroller upon request.

The Living Room
On the first floor, the large 60-square meter living room is organised around a working chimney, couches, a meridienne and coffee table on the one hand, and a reading and television area on the other.

The Kitchen and Dining Room
Highly functional, the kitchen is organised around a central stainless steel isle and a chef’s table. Utensils are close at hand, hanging or stored away in baskets set out on galvanised steel shelves. The large 5-burner gas stove and refrigerator are used to catering to a large number of guests.

The Florentine convent table is the centrepiece of the dining room, which opens out onto the kitchen or can be separated from it by a set of heavy curtains.

The Bedrooms and Bathrooms

GROUND FLOOR Double room with Italian-style shower with grey-green molten glass tiles.
The rough concrete wall and industrial lighting contrast with the chestnut wood cabinets and the wide wooden floorboards.
The two windows look out on a paved alley at the back of the house.

FIRST LEVEL Double room: very large bedroom with an incredible view on the old volcanoes. Worthy of a Prévert setting: a bench upholstered in burnt orange velvet, a storage cabinet from the railways, design nest tables, family photos, tree-trunk night tables and coat pegs made out of deer hooves…
Single room: very simple room for a child, a small dresser, a few toys, a knight’s costume and a bronze of Hercules on his chariot... Let your imagination soar!
Double room: deep orange ceiling, pair of 1950 café chairs, 1970 Tam-Tam stools… And an incredible view on the Ardèche countryside and its old volcanoes.
Dragée-coloured bathroom: the dragée colours of the bathtub’s tiles are also found on the ceiling. The laundry room is next to the bathroom.

SECOND LEVEL Family bedroom: with a double bed and two single beds, this bedroom is ideal for a couple and small children.
Italian-style shower, in a range of greens: from acid green to a deeper green. The industrial sink is surrounded by all types of insects: a stinging vision of nature!

The Terrace and Pool
Under the wisteria, the wood terrace, with a teak table and garden chairs, is the ideal place to have lunch - in any season! - , and dinner during summer. It is accessed from the kitchen.

The private pool, with water treated by salt electrolysis, is equipped with an electric rolling safety curtain. Its three steps allow children to wade and adults to have a drink in the sun! Its dimensions – 5 x 8 m – and its gentle slope – from 90 to 160 cm – were designed for convivial events… In use from 20 May to 20 September.
