* An undisturbed courtyard built into the mountain. Flowers and spices are coming out of the rocks. An old olive tree provides shade most of the day, and an orange tree is cornering the courtyard

* A shared pool with steps into the water instead of a ladder for a smoother transition

The house has 4 bedrooms and can easily accommodate 8 persons. The 3 bedrooms on 1st floor has:

Location description

The whitewashed village of Sedella and the surrounding area is full of old Spanish charm and character. The village architecture shows a clear Moorish influence and the parish church of San Andes is built on the foundations of an old mosque.

Sedella lies 62 kilometres from Malaga. It is located within the area of Axarquia, on the scenic Mudejar Architecture Route, and has a population of app. 600, who are mainly Spanish. There are a few foreign residents, mainly English.

The village is situated at 689 metres altitude in the foothills of the Sierra Tejada and Sierra Almijara mountain ranges. It has winding, narrow streets lined with whitewashed houses, many of which have Arab style courtyards and gardens.

There are several local sights including The Church of San Andres, Rubite and Casa Terreon.

Other activities

The crisp clear air of the mountains and the ever changing vistas forms the dramatic backcloth of La Maroma with rolling hills down to the sea. There are many interesting walks around the village varying from easy to very difficult to suit your preference.

The National Park is a walkers paradise. Wild Goats, Cattle, Ibex, Eagles and Wild Boar are indigenous to the area. Fishing and sailing are available at Vinuela on the lake and two golf courses are being constructed there.

In the winter, skiing is just 2 hours drive away.

Local events

Twelfth night 5th.-6th of January - Procession with three holy kings riding on horseback through the village, giving candy away to children and accompanied by music.

Fiesta of San Anton 19t - 20th of January - The most popular festival in Sedella. San Anton is the patron saint of the animals. It begins with mass, and following the blessing of the horses, the procession begins.

Easter March/April - Holy Week is a festival that draws crowds to Sedella from far and near.

Corpus Christi May/June - An important day in Sedella as in all of Andalucia.

Fiesta of Senora de la Esperanza August - The Day of Nuestra Senora de la Esperanza takes place during the first fortnight in August. It includes theatre & procession.
