The owners, a local couple, welcome you with hospitality to an unforgettable stay in this outstanding Galician city.

    Casa Ponte Sarela, two converted barns, is enclosed within 2,000m2 of stone-fenced gardens, immerged in the lullaby of the River Sarela.

    Tastefully decorated and finished to a high standard, the house boasts two double bedrooms (each with two single beds), a shower room, a lounge/dining-room, plus a separate kitchen equipped with a ceramic hob, a microwave oven and a washing-machine. All linen is included.

    Surrounding the house are the delightful landscaped gardens with many spots in which one can rest under chestnut trees or next to well-established plants. There is also a large stone table and benches under the shade of a beautiful wisteria tree, providing a perfect corner for al fresco dining.

    Casa Ponte Sarela is located at the edge of Santiago de Compostela, a city that invites you to wander through the narrow cobbled streets of the old quarter, soaking up the atmosphere of the Medieval quarter, before visiting its extraordinary Cathedral.

    The house is situated in a country area behind the Pazo de San Lorenzo, close to the University campus and within the pilgrim's route to Finisterre, in the city of Santiago de Compostela. All city amenities are within walking-distance. Less than 30km one can enjoy the amazing coastline with its stunning beaches.

    At the Cathedral you can marvel at the Botafumerio, the largest incense-burner in the world, which on days of religious significance swings through the transept of the Cathedral, dispensing clouds of incense during worship. There is the possibility to climb to the roof of the Cathedral, from where you can enjoy the view of the city with its stunning rooftops and skyline.

    A visit to the old Market is also of great interest, and indeed, after the Cathedral the Market is the most visited location in the city. It is housed in an intricate set of historic stalls divided into various food halls selling fresh fish, wonderful seafood, fruit and vegetables. Another historic building of interest is the University with its two campus and various faculties scattered throughout the city. It is over 500 years old and continues to be a centre of excellence for culture.

    After spending time visiting some of the many sights the city has to offer one can relax in the Alameda Park, strolling along its tree-lined paths or you may choose to visit some of the most contemporary samples of architecture in Spain today.
