Description of holiday house in Puissalicon, Languedoc-Roussillon

This spacious winemakers house has 3 bedrooms plus a further guestroom in the heart of the village of Puissalicon. Two terraces, a private courtyard garden and an 8 x 4 swimming pool. Just 25 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches and 20 minutes from Pezenas and Beziers airport. Wifi and UK TV channels are available.

The house has lovely views from the upper terrace and upper rear windows. There are two lounges with one overlooking the courtyard garden. There is further terrace with sunbeds surrounding the pool making the house an ideal holiday home, great for exploring this very attractive part of France. Living in the house gives a feel for living as the French do, yet with good facilities all around you in the tastefully decorated interior and having the benefit of the private rear garden, with swimming pool, barbecue area and garage. The pool area is complemented by a shower room and WC.

The front stone steps lead to a small front terrace and front door over the garage door with ample parking for two, three cars and off street parking space in front of the garage doors. There is a bedroom with twin beds off the hall, a double bedroom and a further twin bedded room upstairs. Also off the hall is a kitchen breakfast room, a laundry room, a shower room with WC and a large open plan living dining room overlooking the rear garden as well a real fireplace. A second reception room with a bed settee can accommodate further sleeping accommodation if needed upstairs, as well as put you up beds in the lounge.

An off road parking space is available in front of the garage.

Location description

There are international flights from the UK and Europe into Beziers currently using Ryanair and Flybe, with further airlines using Montpellier, Carcassone and Perpignan airports, all about an hours drive from the house. Toulouse and Girona in Spain are about 2 hours drive and have international as well as inter continental flights. There are TGV services to Beziers from Paris, Lyon and Toulouse.

Other activities

Canoeing, go karting, rambling are all available as well as the family leisure parks at Vias and Cap D'Agde.

Local events

There are several local fetes throughout the year, antique markets and shops, local markets, the feria a 5 day fete in Beziers starting the 11th August each year, as well as free beach concerts in Valras in the summer.

Tourist attractions

Historic Beziers is a 15 minute drive, Pezenas and its cobbled streets and lively Saturday market just 20 minutes, Carcassone and its walled city an hour, the Roman amphitheatre in Nimes as well as the Pont de Gard are worth visiting whilst here and for those more adventurous the Pyrennees mountains just 1.5 hours drive.

Directions

Leave the A9 or A75 autoroutes at Beziers, then take the by pass north of Beziers, leaving this on the RN909, direction Bedarieux. After about 12 kilometers you will see the sign for Puissalicon on the right, turn right follow the road down into the valley and past the Roman tower into the centre of the village.
