Description of holiday house in La Loubiere, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur

Domaine de la Loubiere lies at the foothills of the Luberon, surrounded by beautiful countryside, in the ten arce grounds of a 16th century chateau. In contrast, the beautiful city of Aix-en-Provence is just twenty minutes drive away.

The accommodation is spread over three houses which are separate and private. They can be let independantly, sleeping four, six and ten people respectivley, or together, making an ideal location for a group or family of up to twenty people.

Each of the three houses has been lovingly restored by the owners to provide modern accommodation, whilst retaining the character and original features of the old buildings, with stone walls, beams and tiled floors. The interiors are furnished to a high standard with beautiful fabrics and bed linens in a Provencal style.

La Grange, the largest of the three houses, has a vast open plan kitchen/dining and living area(1000 sq ft) with high ceilings, a huge fireplace and comfortable sofas - plenty of space for everyone. The layout of the kitchen is ideal for large groups to cook, wine, dine and relax comfortably together, or even for cookery demonstrations. Outside there is plenty of space to relax and dine together under the shade of the platane (plane) trees. The arrangement of the houses allows people to congregate and holiday together, with the advantage of having some privacy and space to retreat to at other times.

Guests at La Loubiere have their own fenced pool (12m x 6.5m) with comfortable loungers to relax on, surrounded by over two acres of grounds, with views of lavender and the thyme and rosemary covered hills. The tennis court, which is set in the grounds of the chateau, has been resurfaced in 2008. Guests have unlimited access to the court.

The town of Pertuis is 5kms/3 miles away and offers a wide range of shops from small family bakers to large supermarkets. There are a wide range of restaurants in the area, and numerous markets and vineyards, where you can sample the local pruduce.

The motorway is only a ten minute drive away, which gives easy access to coastal resorts such as Cassis, Marseille and the Calanques. Also, the cities of Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Arles, which are steeped in history and culture. In contrast there are the famous villages of the Luberon, including Lourmarin, Cucuron and Bonnieux, which are all easily reached by meandering country routes
