This delightful, tranquil Beach House is set in a palm-filled garden right on the beach at the centre of the sweeping Hikkaduwa bay.

The house has 3 double/twin bedrooms and sleeps six. All bedrooms have air conditioning. It is self-catering and has a fully equipped kitchen / dining room. It is fully furnished. It has 2 spacious, modern bathrooms bathrooms with one en suite.

The large covered veranda with comfortable furnishings has beautiful sea views and is a superb place to chill out to the sound of the breaking waves and luxuriate in the tropical warmth. During thrilling tropical downpours it can be enclosed with drop down bamboo blinds.

The lush lawn garden in front of the house has sun beds for sunbathing under palms – tropical heaven.

It is a peaceful 15-minute stroll along the beach to the surf spots at Hikkaduwa and the island-style beach bars and restaurants. Set slightly away from this main strip, the Beach House is perfectly situated to give guests quiet privacy, yet easy access to the busier part of the beach.

For those not wanting to cook, the small hotel next door will cook great Sri Lankan food and deliver it to the house if requested. A private cook can be arranged.

A housekeeper services the house daily at your convenience.

The Beach House is 20 minutes drive from the historic town of Galle with its famous cricket ground and fort. There are many easy day trips to forests, lakes, waterfalls, ancient Buddhist temples, tea plantations, silk factories, turtle sanctuaries, the tsunami museum and other surf spots along the South Coast. There is a custom made guide book for guests at the house. The Beach House manager will be happy to arrange any day trips or longer tours for you.

Location description

The beautiful beach on sweeping Hikkaduwa bay is great for long walks. The renowned surf at Hikkaduwa reef (visible from the garden) is just 15 minutes walk from from the Beach House. The historic town of Galle with its 500-year old fort and famous cricket ground is 20 minutes drive away. There are lakes, waterfalls, ancient Buddhist temples; silk factories and tailors; painting, batik and wood craft; lively beach bars and restaurants. WiFi access next door. We created an exclusive guide for our guests of day trips and tings to do, see and explore in the area.

Fly into Colombo international airport. We will arrange for a driver to meet you at the airport and drive you down the coast on the Galle Road to the Beach House at Hikkaduwa. If you are touring Sri Lanka first we can send you a location map to give to your driver. The Beach House manager will meet you at the house, settle you in and give you the keys. He is available to assist you throughout your stay.
