Description of holiday house near Grasse, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur

Outstanding 100 year old French house with the most spectacular views of the Cote d'Azur, Provence. The house has been fully restored with all the advantages of modern day conveniences. Situated to the east of Grasse, in the village of Magagnosc, 'La Vigie' (the look out) has extensive views of the region. To the south, approx 15km, is a breathtaking view of the sea at 'Theoule-sur-Mer'. Below lies the old villages of Magagnosc and Opio. To the west the beautiful town of Grasse. Between Grasse and the coast is the Plan de Grasse - with the mountains circling the horizon and countless villages to explore. To the east are the villages of Pre du Lac and Chateauneuf de Grasse.

The house has been totally renovated (2006). Fully tiled terraces on 2 levels with pergola and large parasol for shade. Numerous tables and chairs give dining options, completed by sunbeds and a conveniently positioned pool with decked surround.

The house has been converted to two apartments that can be rented separartely or as a single house. As the house is built into the hill, both levels are approached at 'ground level'. The two apartments are connected by stairs to the side. The ground floor apartment has a large kitchen, dining, living room with two bedrooms a shower room and bathroom. Sky TV, DVD and radio are provided.

Upstairs, the apartment is larger. Once again there is a large kitchen, dining, living room, with four bedrooms and two shower rooms. Sky TV, DVD and radio are provided.

Everything is to a very high specification. The kitchens are by Mark Wilkinson, with granite worktops and Miele appliances. the bathroom and shower rooms have Perrin and Row brassware. All showers are walk in with the largest 2000 mm by 1000 mm.

There are three 1500 mm wide Relyon beds and mattresses, one 1800 mm wide Relyon bed and mattress, a 1350 mm bed and two 900 mm single beds. In addition we can supply travel cots or fold up beds.

We provide all linen and towels. This is very much a home from home with well stocked cupboards full of china, glasses and cutlery and utensils. There are ice makers in the freezers in both apartments together with ovens, microwaves, steamers, washing machines,tumble driers and dishwashers Also hair driers.

Location description

Magagnosc is a typical French village with boulangeries, vegetable shop, newsagents, bars, a small supermarket, restaurants in the village and locally. From the house you can explore the foot hills of the Alps, with gorges, rivers and streams, hill top and medieval villages. Plus the cities of Cannes, Nice, Monaco and St Tropez. The beaches of the Cote d'Azur are close enough to explore for the day or a few hours.

Other activities

Canyoning, river walking in The Loup Valley, go-karting.

Village markets, Antique fairs and monthly antique market (first Sunday of the month in Valbonne.)
