Description of holiday house near Faugeres, Languedoc-Roussillon

The house enjoys south facing views from the large terrace adjoining the house, with also the old village bakery, now part of the property, being used as the summer kitchen area, just off the swimming pool. There is a separate outside kitchen for use in the bakery area, as well as toilet services near the pool.

Also a barbecue is near the old bakery, convenient and in the small cottage garden. The original stone oven of the 'boulangerie' has been renovated and forms a feature to this outside dining area.
There are also terraces with sun loungers surrounding the swimming pool, which is private and not overlooked. Off the swimming pool area is a full size petanque court for the use of residents.

The main house has an entrance hall with stone staircase, a large through lounge dining room with original marble fireplace, a large dining room with wood burner and beams and a separate fitted kitchen with all crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils included.
Upstairs there are five bedrooms, four are double bedrooms, with a twin bedroom also available. Two of the double bedrooms have ensuite shower rooms, with there being a separate family bathroom with shower for the further 3 bedrooms. There is also ample parking next to the property for several cars.

Location description

Ryanair and Flybe have regular flights into Beziers from London Luton, Manchester, Southampton and Bristol in the UK, Paris, Dusseldorf and Oslo. There are further international flights to Montpellier, Carcassone and Perpignan airports, all just over an hours drive from the house.
TGV services to Beziers from Paris take 4.5 hours, Toulouse, 2 hours.

There are fetes throughout the year in Faugeres, Bedarieux, Lamalou les Bains, Beziers and Pezenas with lots of local villages also having good social fetes from February to Xmas.

Tourist attractions

The historic town of Beziers and its Cathar history, Pezenas, its cobbled streets and ghetto from the middle ages as well as Saturday market, Carcassone and its walled city, Nimes and its Roman arena, the Roman aqueduct at the Pont du Gard, the Canal du Midi and of course the vineyards and not forgetting the amazing long sandy beaches of the Mediterranean.

The house is located near Faugeres in a small quiet peaceful hamlet, off the RN909, which can be found taking the RN909 north from Beziers. Use junctions 35 or 36 off the A9 motorway or junction 64 of the A75 motorway, then go to the northern bypass of Beziers to find the start of the RN909.
