West Lane Cottage is our second home - by that we mean that it is a HOME and not just a holiday let. We love it and we hope that you will love it to.

We have furnished our cottage with care and it is very well equipped - visitors tell us that our kitchen has more in it than they have at home! We hope we have thought of everything that you could want on a self catering holiday.

The cottage is cosy and comfortable and we have two living rooms allowing a room for TV (Sky) and films and a second room for reading or playing games or watching DVDs. The newly fitted kitchen dining room leads onto the enclosed garden where you will find outdoor furniture for when you want to eat outside and admire the church. There is a downstairs cloakroom, an en suite showerroom to the double bedroom and a bathroom opposite the twin bedded room.

Well behaved dogs are welcome and can accompany you on a walk, long or short, which leads from the bridle path adjacent to the cottage. The village pub is very near or a 20 minute walk across country takes you to an alternative award winning pub.

We have been open for business since April 2008 and all our visitors have loved our central location and our warm and welcoming cottage. We are sure you will too!

Location description

We are ideally placed to visit: Cerne Abbas and the famous giant; the County town of Dorchester; the ovely town of Sherborne; Wimborne and its Minster; and the Jurassic Coastline with the world famous Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside and within 5 miles you can visit the home of Thomas Hardy, Tolpuddle Martyr Museum, Poundbury Village, Athelhampton House and Gardens, Badger Watch, the Dinosaur Museum, the Teddy Bear Museum, The Dorset County Museum, the Keep Military Museum, Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens, Maiden Castle, The Tank Museum, The Roman Town House and the Tutankhamun Exhibition.
