Description of holiday house in Callac, Brittany

Callac is a centrally located small town within Brittany, meaning that all of this wonderful enchanting region can be reached on a day out.

The property was originally a cider processing farm and a huge barrel still sits in one of he large barns in the grounds. the house itself is a Longere, so the living space is accessed by stairs, of which there is a good sized balcony to enjoy on warm days.
Entering the hallway the first room on the left is the good sized kitchen with plenty of room to prepare meals and a dining table and chairs to sit and eat. with cooker, fridge (it has a small freezer compartment), microwave and toaster.

Opposite the kitchen through the hallway, there is the living room with leather sofas, TV, DVD,Sky and a CD player.A comfortable room with doors leading out to the balcony.
Further on in the hall the first of the bedrooms is entered with a double bed and simple furnishings. next is the WC and separate shower and wash room. Then there is small study area and finally the hallway leads to the two other bedrooms a single at the rear of the house and a double with king sized bed at the front of the house both with simple furnishings.

The house has oil fired central heating and a washing machine is situated down stairs in the garage.

Overall the property is a comfortable and peaceful, base to explore this lovely part of France.
the town itself has a weekly Wednesday market and there are two well stocked supermarkets as well as all the small produce shops,including a boulagerie, patisserie, cafe's, chemist and banks. there is also a museum with information on the breton Spaniel, a dog which is bred in this region even today.

• We strongly recommended guests arrange a comprehensive travel insurance policy ( including cancellation cover) & to have full cover for the party's personal belongings, public liability etc, since these are not covered by the owner's insurance. Deposits are non-refundable.

• The maximum number to reside in the property must not exceed the number as stated in the owner's brochure.

• The guests agree to be considerate of others and to take good care of the property, to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of their stay. Guests are kindly requested not to disturb other guests or neighbouring properties by loud noise or music.

• We would ask guests to report to the owners, without delay, any defects in the property, or appliances in the property or garden and arrangements for repair and or replacements will be made as soon as possible. Articles damaged or broken during your stay should be replaced like-for-like, we hope that you will notify us of any damages or breakages however small so that we are aware and can replace the item in time for our next guest.

• The owner shall not be liable to the client for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property, or appliance in the property or garden, for any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes or any other matters beyond the control of the owner. Nor for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the client, if the property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the booking, and in any such event, the owner shall within seven days of notification to the client, refund to the client all sums paid previously in respect of the booking. Under no circumstance shall the owner's liability to the guests exceed the amount paid to the owner for the booking.

• The owner shall not be liable for accident or injury, however sustained on the premises or gardens by the guests or by members of their party and the owner shall not be liable for loss or damage to guests property during the stay.

Location description

Callac is a quiet town with a range of activities to include a street market on Wednesdays, all kinds of everything are on display here, its the ideal place to buy fresh fruit and veg or to sample local specialities such as delicious Breton crepes. Also a range of interesting shops, two major supermarkets, banks, cafes, bars and restaurants. It boasts a very attractive lake for fishing surrounded by wooded areas with nature trails and walks.
