Morlich lodge is one of the original designed and built stone houses in Boat of Garten. It is a four bedroom house which sits on over an acre of land overlooking the Cairngorm mountains / Strathspey steam railway line and the fourth hole of the golf course.

It has full central heating and is insulated with double glazing throughout.

You will find living in the house very relaxing and comfortable no matter what the season. The newly refurbished kitchen includes an Aga which has made the room a very cosy and welcoming place.

The living room, with its log burning stove and panoramic window is also very inviting.

If you want to escape than head for the conservatory where you can relax, read a book or watch the squirrels and blue tits at the feeders and nest boxes.

The dining room is adjacent to the living room and can accommodate up to 8 people in comfort. When it is time to retire for the evening you have the choice of 2 large bedrooms, both with King sized beds (one with ensuite). Both of these rooms have panoramic windows looking over the Cairngorms.

The other bedroom upstairs has 2 singles with separate hand basin. Downstairs there is another bedroom with bunk beds and an en-suite which would suit either children or the elderly who may prefer to stay on the ground floor.

With such a large garden, children have ample room to run about and play and wave at the steam train as it chuggs past on its way to and from Aviemore.

Location description

Boat of garten is located in the Cairngorm National park. It is renowned for its outdoor activities, whether that be Skiing in the winter, walking at all levels, sailing, cycling, canoeing, fishing for salmon in the spey or for trout in the numerous lochs located within walking distance of the house. For the golfers we have the Boat of Garten course which is known as the Gleneagles of the north. There is also a championship course located near Aviemore. For nature lovers you can stay at home and watch the red squirrels frolic in the garden or see the world famous ospreys at loch garten.

Directions

Morlich Lodge can be reached by car from the south/north via the A9 following the signs for Boat of Garten. There is a main train line from the south that runs to inverness, you would get off at Aviemore and catch a bus to Boat of Garten. For people who would like to fly, you can arrive into Inverness and hire a car and travel south on the A9, exiting at the sign for Carrbridge and follow the signs for Boat of Garten. You can also fly into Edinburgh and travel north either by car or train. Please contact us for more detailed instruction.
