Description of holiday house in Bazoges en Pareds, Pays de la Loire

Set on the edge of the historic town of Bazoges en Pareds in the north of the Vendée, this large detached holiday home provides comfortable family accommodation for up to seven guests, plus a baby. There are three good sized bedrooms, all with great views over the lovely gardens and 8m x 4m swimming pool.

The house is fully equipped for all of your needs and the owners live close by and are always there to offer advice and share a glass of wine!

There is plenty of private parking for your cars and a terrace for al fresco dining in the warm summer evenings.

The pool is securely fenced off and there is a children's play area with swings and a sand pit. There are also lots of sun loungers and a picnic table in the garden.

The house is entered via the large kitchen and dining area. The country-style kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle & toaster. There is enough crockery & cutlery for up to eight guests and the dining table can seat six.

From the dining area, double french doors lead into the comfortable living room, where you will find a TV with UK satellite channels, a DVD & Video player, radio & HiFi and a log fire for those cosy winter evenings. The house is enabled with a secure WiFi network, so if you bring your laptop on holiday you will still be able to pick up your emails or surf the internet. There is access from the living room onto the private terrace.

The three bedrooms can all be found on the first floor. The master bedroom has a wrought-iron bedstead and pine furniture and has lovely views over the garden. The second bedroom also has a double bed and the third bedroom has bunk beds and a further single bed. A travel cot is available to use along with a high chair if needed.

In the hallway you will find a large bookcase with lots of holiday reading and a selection of board games. There is a family bathroom with a double sink, toilet, full sized bath with central shower taps and a separate shower cubicle. There is also a separate toilet on the ground floor.

There is a private terrace outside the house with table and chairs, for those long warm summer evenings when relaxing with a glass or two of wine.

The garden slopes down from the house towards the enclosed pool area. The pool is open from Easter to the end of September and is for the sole use of the guests at Le Petit Oliver and the owners who occasionally use it. The pool is securely fenced off and is surrounded by a raised decked area.

Location description

Le Petit Oliver is situated in the northern Vendée with lovely views across the gardens and countryside. The Vendée is known for being the second sunniest region in France and boasts many good quality beaches.
There are many great visitor attractions all within an hours drive - such as The Puy du Fou theme park and Futuroscope.
The Marais Poitevin is also only a 30 minute drive, where you will find a peaceful day's outing on the canals and towpaths of Coulon & Maillezais.
The forest of Mervent and the artists village of Vouvant are close by too.
The area surrounding the house is a haven for birds and wildlife, and it is only 10 minute drive to a nearby leisure lake, where you can picnic or fish.You can also swim there in the summer months. There is another lake nearby with two restaurants.
There are many opportunities in the area for horse-riding, fishing, cycling, boating etc.
There are many ancient and historic towns and villages to visit

Every summer, the town of Bazoges holds festivals and fairs around the medieval castle and many of the nearby villages also have markets, fetes and festivals.
